Xavier slept like a brick. He felt more at peace then usual. The cat made him feel safe, even though he knew it couldn't possibly protect him. He just liked the idea of a calm state of mind. Xavier awoke from his dead sleep to find the black cat curled up on his chest starring at him. Xavier smiled,"time to get up." He picked up the cat and sat it aside. Xavier got up and changed into an outfit he found in the closet. Surprisingly, it wasn't horrible. Inside the old dark oak wardrobe he found a few button up shirts, a pair of dress pants, and a single bow tie. Obviously Xavier had no interest in wearing something so formal to breakfast do he put on the shirt with a pair of jeans and his white sneakers.

As he walked out the door the cat followed close behind. Xavier hurried down the stairs starting to get use to his new way of life. He slid into the dining room and took his seat. No sooner then he made it in the room the cat jumped into the seat beside him and just sat there starring. Luke walked into the room, his black hair messy and rubbing his eyes. "Morning Zave."He yawned. Xavier just smiled.

Seth followed closely behind Luke fully dress, wide eyed, and looked ready for the day. "Morning boys!" Seth spoke with glee. You could tell his loud voice stunned Luke, he nearly jumped out of his chair at the sound. "Morning Seth." The twins spoke in unison. Seth prepared their breakfast and Xavier ate it quickly. He jumped out of his chair and ran out the door."what's up with him?"Seth asked curiously. Luke just shrugged and continued eating his omelet.

Xavier made his way outside and grabbed his book bag out of Seth's corvette. Xavier sprinted about half way down the road until he ran out of breath. Xavier wheezed,"r-right asthma..."he coughed. Xavier continued down the road until he made it to the small village like town he passed on the way up to the tower. Xavier let out a sigh of relief and sat on a tree stump just a few feet away from the street. He pulled a sketch pad from his bag and pulled a pencil from one of its pockets. Looking at the town, he began to draw the street scene with a soft smile on his face. He didn't know exactly where he was, he didn't how long he'd be here. All he knew is he had never felt such peace in any place since his dad died. Until Seth brought Luke and him here.

Peace. It was such a rare thing in the lives of the Adam twins. Finally having it is so unexpected for them. Now they can finally express themselves for who they are and not who their sibling is. Both Luke and Xavier feel like they live in each other's shadows, but not any more. Now even they are one of a kind. Xavier admired his work, it wasn't perfect but it wasn't horrible either. He was proud of his landscape sketch. He stuffed the sketch book into his backpack and zipped it up. Xavier heard something in the wind. A voice, a sweet voice with a villainous undertone. He shook off the strange sound when he felt something at his feet. Xavier looked down to see the black cat weaving in and out between his legs. Xavier smiled. "How did you get out? Must be an escape artists."He said as he started to walk farther into town.

Every so often Xavier would turn to see if the cat was around, sure enough the cat followed him like a stray dog. Xavier started to feel bad about it following him, he was scared he'd be hit by a car. So he picked up the cat and put it in his half zipped bag. The cat peeked out of it watching behind them. The cat is odd, Xavier had never seen an animal so loyal. It would follow him anywhere. He felt an odd connection to the cat. He seemed, special. Nobody could tell him any different. After an hour or two Xavier went back to the tower for lunch.

When he arrived Seth was sitting in the living room by the fireplace. He looked troubled."Seth? You okay?" Xavier said as he gently put the backpack down next to Seth. "I can't find Salem..."he shook his head. "Salem? Who the heck is Salem?" It looked as if he had been struck by lightning he was so shocked. "No one!" Xavier became curious as he pulled the cat out of the bag. "Salem! You scared me to death!" Seth yelled as he took the cat carefully from Xavier's hands. "So he does have a name." Xavier smiled softly. "Of course he has a name. Every person has a name!" Seth defended. "Yeah yeah. So Salem huh? Cute." The cat hissed. "He doesn't like being called cute." Seth laughed. "Okay okay. No more girly descriptive words, I get it." Xavier brushed Salem's fur.
