That night at dinner Seth looked uncomfortably anxious. As they ate Xavier watched as Seth grew more nervous. He turned to the window in the room, Seth looked towards the full moon and rubbed his hands together shaking. He took a deep breath and smiled at the twins. "Big day tomorrow! Better get to bed! I'll see you boys in the morning, all right?" Seth hugged Luke from behind and walked out the door. "Goodnight..." Xavier mumbled as he finished his food. Luke finished eating and made his way to bed. Xavier on the other hand took his time up the stairs. He made his way to his room and shut the door. Xavier layed awake in in his bed.
He heard strange growling and scratching noises coming from the attic. Xavier got nervous and quickly locked the door. He crawled back into bed and covered his head with the blanket. Now he wished Salem was here to keep him company. Xavier was scared. That was a rare thing, but so was the peace from earlier. Maybe today was the day for terrifying change.
The next morning Luke came into Xavier's room. "Zave? You okay?" Xavier was still fast asleep. Luke sighed and grabbed Xavier's shoulder. Xavier jumped and screamed in agony as if someone had just stabbed him in the chest. He shook with fear. "D-don't do that." Xavier covered his head. "Sorry man. Didn't mean to frighten you, just wanted you to know you missed breakfast." Xavier sighed."okay..." Luke awkwardly walked out of the room and shut the door. After a few minutes Xavier worked up the courage to get out of bed and change into a fresh outfit. He slid on a pair of ripped jeans he borrowed from Luke and his black hoodie. He slowly moved his shaking hand to the door knob and pushed it open. He cautiously looked both ways. He nervously scoured the lower floors of the tower searching for Salem. No luck.
After a while of searching, Xavier bumped into Seth. Seth stood there for a moment and shook off the sudden hit. "Oh. Um h-hello." Xavier said as he pulled at his hood. Seth raised an eyebrow and lifted Xavier to his feet. "You okay kid?" "Yeah...fine." Xavier looked to the floor. "Oh I've been meaning to tell you, we are having and visitor over for dinner tonight." "Who?" Xavier asked confused. "An old friend...he might be staying for awhile." Seth exclaimed and continued walking down the hall. Xavier shook his head, he had an off putting feeling about what has been going on lately around the tower. 'Now we have some mysterious dinner guest popping up? Seriously how many friends could Seth possibly have?' Xavier thought to himself trying to make sense of everything going on.
Xavier decided to go for a walk to ease his mind. He grabbed his book bag and took a stroll down to the village. The peace he felt the day before was nowhere to be found. All around him he felt like he was being watched, stalked, even prayed upon. Everywhere he went, stores, restaurants, even grocery stores. He couldn't feel at ease. Fear fell all around him, it felt like a curse upon his mind. He felt useless, worthless,.....helpless. No matter what fear followed him like a shadow. The longer he wondered about the more anxious and nervous he became. Xavier started running around in some sort of terrifying frantic trance.
Unable to remember where he was going in the first place Xavier became lost, frantically searching for a glimpse of the tower.Out of nowhere a young girl fell into his arms after being knocked off her feet from his reckless sprinting. Xavier shook himself out of the trance in shock from the surprisingly powerful collision. The girl looked up at him stunned. After a moment the two of the realized what had just occurred. Xavier's face shot read as he quickly helped her to her feet. Her face brushed lightly in pink over her warm caramel like skin. She had long brown hair that spilled over her shoulders like waves of liquid chocolate. She had freckles dotted across her face like sprinkles. Her beautiful yellow eyes shined like the sunset.
Xavier felt his chest tighten and his face grow darker. "U-uh...I-I apologize, I-I wasn't w-watching where I was going." She smiled softly as she tucked her brown wavy hair behind her ear. "Oh no, it was my fault. I should have seen you coming." She had a strong British accent that just melted away the tense feeling in Xavier's body. "My name is Amelia, by the way." She put out her hand kindly. Xavier smiled nervously and shook her hand. Nice to meet you Amelia, I'm Xavier." "Please, call me Amy." She smiled. "I've never seen you around here, nice to meet someone new." "You're telling me."Xavier mumbled under his breath.
Luke wondered about per usual. He heard an odd noise from the attic, he walked up a few steps until he saw something he found disturbing. Luke's eyes widened. His senses clouded. He felt like his head might implode. Luke stumbled backward, running down the steps and to the front door. He continued to stand completely stunned from what he had just scene. There was an overwhelming feeling swelling up inside of him....fear.
