Black smoke engulfed the room. You couldn't see anything through the dark fog. When it cleared the strangest sight had appeared. Where Xavier once stood chained to the wall, stood a small black cat with glowing maroon eyes. "Now you're just like all the others...like Salem. What a pity. I liked you. You are rather cute as a cat though." Maya smiled deviously and picked up Xavier. "Maybe I should do the same to your brother, what an adorable pair you too could be." She smirked. "No! Maya! Please! You can do whatever you want with me, just don't hurt Luke!" Xavier whined.

Maya put away the books, ingredients, and bottles. She sighed and carried Xavier upstairs. Maya shut the door to the downstairs and sat Xavier down. "You are never getting away, so don't try to escape. Only immortals can hear you talk." Maya patted Xavier's head and walked outside to the garden. Xavier ran down the hall to Maya's bedroom. He slid into front of a mirror. He had to see what had become of him. Xavier peered at his appearance. His eyes widened.

I'm a cat!? Maya turned me into a cute fuzzy black cat! I look like Salem! Wait...Salem. She said something about him. Did she do this to him too!? That means I have a chance to escape! Xavier thought to himself and rushed out of the room to the back door. He hid behind the door and waited for his chance. A few minutes later Maya entered the house and Xavier took a leap. Xavier bolted out the door past Maya. Maya growled and chased after him, but Xavier was too fast. He hid behind a tree a stayed there until she gave up. "He'll be back." She smirked and went inside.

Xavier ran off into the woods. He ran and ran for what seemed like forever. Until finally he found light. He was back in the town. He hurried to the tower as fast as his paws could take him until he finally made it to the large (now even larger) oak doors. Xavier scratched furiously and meowed loudly. "Hey! Open up! Somebody please help!" He mewed. After a moment Seth came and opened the door. His eyes widened with worry. "Salem!? Wait...awww your not Salem, who are you cutie?" Seth smiled as he unknowingly picked up Xavier. He cuddled the cat and brought him inside.

Seth shut the doors and carried Xavier to the kitchen. Xavier hopped out of Seth's arms. Seth laughed and poured the cat a bowl of milk, he then sat it on the floor for Xavier to drink. Xavier licked up the milk quickly and purred happily. He was dehydrated from the long run over. After he licked the bowl clean, Xavier bolted upstairs and meowed as he looked for Luke to warn him of Maya's plans. "Luke! Luke! Where are you!? Open up!" John opened his bedroom door. "Xavier could you stop yelling!?" John looked around. "Xavier?" Xavier bounced about happy someone could finally hear him.

"Dr. Witcher! Down here! Help me!" Xavier mewed frantically. Salem looked down to find the small black cat clawing at his dress pants. Salem's eyes widened. "Oh no...she got you too. What have I done?" John picked Xavier up. "Oh you poor boy, I'm so sorry." Salem brought him inside and locked the door. Salem sat Xavier on the bed and petted him. "How can you understand me? What did you mean by 'she got you too'?" Xavier asked. John sighed. "No time for questions right now."

"Now hold on a minute, I'm gonna fix this." Salem patted Xavier. "W-What are you gonna do?! I hate this! I knew I should have never trusted Maya. She was just so-" Xavier was interrupted. "Hypnotic." Salem said. "Yeah, she had that effect on me too." Xavier looked up in confusion. "She did?" "Nevermind. Forget I said anything." Salem said with a sigh. Witcher turned to face the small table that sat in the room. He grabbed some bottles and a bowl from his bag. Salem poured a glowing blue liquid into the bowl along with some flower petals.

He added some sort of red plant to the mixture and crushed the ingredients together. Xavier wanted as he sat on the bed in awe. After everything had liquefied, Witcher sat the bowl on the ground. "Drink it." He said. Xavier looked at his questionably. "Um...what is it?" Salem rolled his eyes. "Something that will fix you, now drink it you little furball!" Xavier glared up at him as he jumped off the bed. He sniffed at the bowl and licked the liquid cautiously. He quickly finished the bowl and sat down beside it. Salem looked at his watch.

Just a moment later a purple smoke engulfed the room. After the fog had started to clear Salem through a shirt at the spot where the cat sat. Witcher opened the window to let out the rest of the smoke and when he turned back Xavier stood wearing nothing but an oversized shirt. Salem smiled,"There, your fixed." Witcher cleaned up the mess and poured the extra liquid into his flask. Xavier turned red. "U-Um...I'll be right back." Xavier rushed out of the room and into his own next door.

He quickly changed into his clothes and folded Salem's dress shirt. When he came back to Salem's room, Salem had started to put all of his belongings in his bag. "John? What are you doing?" Xavier asked as he sat the shirt on Salem's bed. Salem sighed and sat in his chair,"I'm moving out." "What!?" Xavier yelled. "You just saved me and now you're telling me you are leaving us!?" Salem facepalmed. "Xavier...I think you might wanna sit down. We need to talk." Xavier sat down on the bed and looked at Salem. "What is it? Is it about Maya?" Xavier asked. Salem nodded and took a breath.
