Salem turned his head trying to avoid Maya's piercing gaze. "You can't even look me in the eyes. What? Am I not beautiful?" Maya's appearance shifted to that of Amber's. "What about now?" Salem looked at her after hearing Amber's soft voice. "Is this what you want, Salem dear? Is she what you want?" Maya grinned as she leaned in on Salem. He jerked away quickly and looked to the side, ashamed that he ever looked in her direction. Maya turned back into herself and scoffed. "Fine then. If you miss your mortal family so much, I promise you'll see them again."

"After all, everyone's got to die sometime, right?" Maya smirked and disappeared in a black cloud. Everything was dark. Then Salem took a deep breath and shot up. He was now sitting in front of the family tree, with the photo of Amber in his hands, as if it had all been a dream. But Salem knew this was no dream, he feared that the end was nearing. He stood up in the morning sun and walked inside the tower with relief. He took the photo back to his room and hurried downstairs to the dining room. Breakfast had began.

It was like any other morning, except for the fact that everyone was excited and happy. Xavier was practically beaming with joy. Salem watched as the all laughed and smiled. Salem finished his breakfast and went straight to bed after his restless night. Everyone watched as Salem dragged himself out of the room and up the stairs. Seth sighed,"So, what do you boys want to do for your birthday?" The twins just shrugged. Seth smiled,"That's alright, I have a few ideas." They heard a knock on the front door. Xavier smiled as he wiped his lips with a napkin.

"I'll get that," he said as he rushed to the front door. Xavier swung open the door and his smile faded. "Oh....hey." Amy stood a stiff as stone in the doorway. It was too awkward for her not to say something. "Hey Zave." She gave a distant smile before stepping inside. Xavier watched as she walked into the dining room and hugged Luke with such force he might pop. Xavier held back emotions and shut the door. Luke grinned, "hey Amy, what are you doing here?" Amy just twirled her brown hair,"I just wanted to see you. You wanna go for a walk?"

Luke nodded and took her arm. He waved as the exited the tower. Seth walked up behind Xavier and laughed awkwardly. "Heh...um, you wanna call a friend or something?" Xavier's eyes widened. "Oh crap! I have plans with her today!" Xavier hugged his uncle and quickly put on his coat. "Bye! Um I'll see you later!" Xavier bolted out the door leaving a breeze behind him. Xavier hurried down the road hoping to find Maya somewhere along the way. All of a sudden he saw a flash of terribly bright light.

It caught him so off guard that he started to fall forward. He opened his eyes to find him self laying flat on a couch. Maya's couch to be more specific. "Sorry for the flash, I had to get you to stop." Maya smiled as she walked over to him. Xavier sat up and smiled happily. "Hey. Um what are we gonna do today? You got me interested." Maya grinned widely and grabbed his hand. "Follow me." She said as she tugged him down the stairs into the same room from before. "Okay, it is time for your second lesson."

Maya walked around the room frantically gathering books, ingredients, and containers which she then plopped down on the desk. She cleared off a small area of the table and smiled. Xavier stood still as he thought to himself. All of a sudden his shoulders began to tense up and his once aloof expression beam troubled. "What's wrong?" Maya pouted. Xavier held on tight to his necklace,"Maya...why won't you tell me where this place is? You need to trust me if we are going to be together." Maya cut her eyes and sighed,"All in good time Xavier, now come over here and pick out a potion to brew-" Xavier leaned on one of the shelves and crossed his arms. "Maya, I'm serious. Tell me where we are." Maya tried to change the subject. "Just trust me Xavier. Now, would who rather brew a love potion or a temporary paralization?" Xavier growled. "This isn't funny Maya! I need to know!" Maya's eyes lit up like flames. "Are you yelling at me? No Xavier, you're wrong. What you need is to be put in your place!" Maya growled viciously. "Maybe a punishment is in order!" "Maya! I need to know! I trust you! Why don't you trust me?"

Maya snapped. Her hand lit up with what looked like emerald green flames. Xavier's eyes widened with fear. He became anxious,"Wow...Maya, j-just calm down a second-" Maya hissed. Xavier started tearing up he backed up to the wall. "P-Please M-Maya, y-you're scaring me..." Without hesitation Maya flicked her wrist and Xavier was suddenly chained to the wall by his wrists. "M-Maya! Help! Please l-let me go!" At this point Xavier was in tears. Maya's face was cold, yet she felt slightly betrayed by Xavier.

"Maya! H-Hey! Haha...okay. T-This was a funny joke! I'll do t-the lesson now. A-Are you gonna let me go?" Maya walked over and gathered his tears in a small bottle. They glowed for some reason. Maya scoffed and smirked in Xavier's direction. "I'm sorry Zave, but you're never getting out. You're to valuable now. I thought you were different. I thought you were the one to help me achieve my goals....I was wrong." Maya corked the bottle and sat it aside. "At least you'll make a cute pet." She grabbed Xavier by the collar and kissed him.
