The cool air of the room hit him with a surprise, and he was almost glad. He needed it. Jason closed the door of the meeting room behind him and walked all the way across to the other end of the long table lined with chairs. Isaac was at the window, he turned to acknowledge his arrival.
"Apologies to have you waiting it's uh... too cramped with situations." said Jason.
Isaac flashed a sweet smile, "It is ok friend. I know."
Friend? Jason turned his head towards the door, the lady hadn't come in. Good. He needed that too.
He eyed Isaac who seemed to notice his restlessness quiet well. Years of quality time spent together.
Jason almost fell in the chair, leaning back, loosening his tie. He was relieved to have a little personal air. Isaac took the seat in front of him crossing his fingers as he leaned back to admire the great Sherlock. He always had.
"Never fail to be too busy?"
Jason smiled. "You know that well."
"Dont overwork yourself friend. Who am I going to brag about after you?"
Jason managed a little laugh.
Jason Albert and Isaac Winslow, the two were close mates from the same academy. Sharing the same interest of becoming detectives they got along pretty well and had been a successful duo for some time until Isaac had decided to join the FBI while Albert, as he had wanted, became a private detective. He wasn't the type to work under other's jurisdictions or remain bound by laws. He was a man of his own ways.
The files were neatly stacked on the table, Wendy's perfect manners.
"So, what more of a trouble have you brought me today?"
Isaac smiled as he slid the blue file towards him.
"The raiders, as you know took some papers on their way back from the scientist house. The documents carried some secret research."
Jason sighed. "Not surprised", he opened the file.
"Jason, the government is saying they contain a nuclear based research also there must be more to why the scientist was demanded dead by whoever had sent those two."
"Already on it."
He flipped a few pages before closing the file and returning it to the table. He knew people expected and he loved to come up to those but just expecting him to pick up the broom and shoo away the dirt. He didnt do that.
"Dont worry. It will be taken care of as soon as possible. What about the raiders?"
"The exits and entrances are being monitored", Isaac went on. "Luckily there had been a single witness, a man living next door. We were able to obtain clues about looks."
Jason though, didnt really care about 'looks'.
Isaac got up as he went towards him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Being smart enough, Jason had admired him in many ways but later had noticed that Isaac probably felt the same towards him. He, at times, wished deeply the two of them were working together.
"Jason, you know why I requested the office to hand over the case to you."
