“Hanna-Rose?” Michael’s voice said from above me, so I tried to shrink into a little ball to hide from him but he saw me and sat down next to me, “Hanna-Rose, why did you leave?”
“I needed some air,” I huffed.
“Okay,” he replied quietly, “I’m really sorry for acting like a jerk.”
“It’s okay,” I said in rather a monotone voice.
“God. I really wish she hadn’t done that,” he sighed.
“What? Stacy?” I asked.
“Yeah, I mean, I wish I’d pulled away sooner,” he mumbled, “it gives the impression that I like her or something stupid like that.”
“You mean you don’t?” I asked in surprise.
“What? No, not in that way you twat,” he chuckled, “w-we have... history... I guess?”
Oh.
“Mhm,” I said and Michael put his arm round me to pull me closer to him so I leaned my head on his chest, suddenly feeling sleepy.
“Sleepy drunk hm?” Michael chuckled.
“Yeah,” I giggled, barely noticing when Michael got up and came back a minute later with more drinks. I gulped one down quickly, the alcohol making me buzz. Drunk is good.
“Woah, slow down,” Michael laughed, tilting the cup away from my face slightly, making me giggle. Drunk is funny.
“No,” I whined and took the cup that he was drinking from his hand and drank that too.
“How much have you drank?” Michael asked warily.
“Not too much,” I giggled, “maybe five... six? Se-”
“Hanna-Rose,” he whined but he was giggling too, “thirsty bitch.”
“Hey!” I laughed, gently shoving his shoulder, but he reached for my arm and pulled me closer to him again, so he was leaning against the wall and I was leaning into his chest.
The majority of the night went by in a blur and most of it was me dancing with Michael because we were drunk out of our minds and it was fun, it was almost 1:00am when Michael decided that we should go home.
“Hanna-Rose, we need to leave now,” he said, and I was quite glad that he’d said that because my head was spinning and I’d already been dared to kiss Michael more times than I could count and that was not going to happen, “okay let’s go, come on.”

We had to walk back to my apartment but we’d finally got there.
