"We'll miss you," they all shouted, including my mum as we stood at the airport gates, waiting for me to board the plane. I hugged Luke and Calum first, then my mum, who was crying so I was almost in tears. Then I hugged Ash.
"I'll miss you," he smiled, pulling me forwards and kissing me in full view of everyone and then hugging me tight for a long time before he let go and I moved onto Michael. He hugged me and then cupped his hands round his mouth and then round my ear.
"Bye best and only student," he whispered.
"Bye Mr Clifford," I whispered back.
"Damn your sexy British accent," he smirked, standing away from the others a bit. He cupped the sides of my face and brought my lips to his and I didn't pull away, I just hoped that because he was wearing a jumper, the hood would be enough for them not to see. I pulled away before it got too heated and hugged him tight, burying my head into his shoulder.
"I'll miss you," I sobbed.
"I'll miss you more," he choked, also sobbing.
"Not possible," I mumbled against the fabric.
"Yes, possible," he mumbled back, and when he pulled away he took his jumper off and handed it to me, "you keep it."
"Thanks," I said, meaning it. I slipped the jumper on, inhaling his scent, and I smiled as Ash came over and hugged me again.
"Did you just kiss him?" he murmured, his head resting on my shoulder in the hug.
"No, babe," I lied, I was an awful liar but he bought it.
"And where were you last night?" Ash asked worriedly.
"I uh," I coughed, glancing at Michael who was smirking at me from behind us, "I fell asleep in their kitchen." I decided to say, making Michael laugh loudly and cover his mouth, trying to restrain from bursting into laughter again.
"Right," Ash giggled.
"Well, that's my flight," I pointed at the board. They all huddled round me in a group hug, everyone saying their 'bye's and 'miss you's until I finally left to board the plane.
I was about to get on the plane when I shoved my hands in my pockets, only to find a piece of paper in the pocket of Michael's jumper. I unfolded it to see... The lyrics to a song...? Written in sloppy hand writing.
Amnesia
I drove by all the places
We used to hang out and get wasted
I thought about our last kiss
How it felt, the way you tasted
And even though your friends tell me
You're doing fine
And you're somewhere feeling lonely
Even though he's right beside you
When he says those words that hurt you
Do you read the ones I wrote you?
Sometimes I start to wonder
Was it just a lie?
If what we had was real
How could you be fine?
'Cause I'm not fine at all
I remember the day you told me you were leaving
I remember the makeup running down your face
And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
Forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
'Cause I'm not fine at all
The pictures that you sent me
They're still living in my phone
I admit I'd like to see them
I'll admit I feel alone
All my friends keep asking why I'm not around
It hurts to know you're happy
And it hurts that you've moved on
It's hard to hear your name
When I haven't seen you in so long
It's like we never happened, was it just a lie?
If what we had was real how could you be fine?
'Cause I'm not fine at all
The flight was long and boring, with a stop in Hong Kong which was beautiful. I took a lot of photos and videos too but I was extremely glad when we finally landed in England, Heathrow, because I'd ran out of music on my iPhone, I couldn't sleep the entire time and my body really was aching an awful lot.
"Hanna!" Chloe yelled, running over to me. I dropped my bags and hugged her tight.
"God it's been ages Chlo," I said excitedly.
"I'm so excited!" Chloe squealed, hugging me again before grabbing my bags and heading for the exit.
"Believe me, so am I," I said as we got outside. Into the rain. Typical British weather.
"Han, it's literally been years since you've been home," she sighed, "I sure hope this boyfriend is worth it."
"Yeah," I sighed with a smile. On the flight I'd had a lot of time to just think. I'd been thinking about how Michael had said he liked me and as I sat in Chloe's car, staring out the window, I was beginning to think that maybe I liked him back. Maybe
