She starts crying and pushes me away when I went in to hug her.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME? DO YOU NOT CARE ABOUT ME AT ALL SARAH?"
"I do.. I just figured everyone would be better off without me.."
"ARE YOU FUCKING DUMB?"
She wiped her tears away and hugged me tightly, then slapped me across the face. I cupped my now red cheek in my palm.
"I'm sorry Cory."
"I don't want to hear it right now. I want to know what you did and how you did it and how you survived."
We both sat down on the couch and I told her the story about this random Nick guy that came to my unfortunate rescue.
"Do you know where he is now?" asked Cory.
"No.. I don't. He wouldn't tell me who he was but he seemed so familiar. I felt like I looked right through him and could see me in him. I feel like he could see himself in me too. It was like looking in a humanized mirror. He told me he'd tell me who he was when the time comes. I don't even know what that means.."
"Well whoever he is the universe must've sent him."
The night quickly turned to dawn, Cory and I fell asleep on the couch in a very strange position. My head was in her lap while my feet were in the air. Cory's head slowly fell to the edge of the couch. We laid there covered in blankets with a big bowl of spilled popcorn on the ground. Hope slept on the arm on the couch. One big happy family.
David and Derrek came down stairs laughing quietly to the sound of our harmonizing snores.
"Ugh they spilled a whole bowl of popcorn!"
"Relax Dave you're always such a clean freak!"
"I just vacuumed that last night though!"
"Just chill out, they're teenagers. They'll clean it when they wake up. Let's go we're going to be late!"
They rush out the door and shut it quietly. We continued snoring and slobbing on the couch all through the day until afternoon. I woke up yawning loudly and sat up. My hair is a complete tangled mess. I got up and stretched then headed upstairs for a nice shower.
As I was showering I thought about Anne and my parents. I wondered how Anne was doing, I wondered if my parents care enough about me to have a change of heart. Do they give a fuck about where I am and who I'm with? Why haven't they attempted to reach out to me? Or do they know I'm doing better here than there? There's so many questions I have that are unanswered. I got out and wrapped a towel around me then sat on Cory's bed. I grabbed my phone and dialed my mom's number. I threw my phone on the bed and sighed.
"Fuck." I said to myself, then got up and put clothes on. I peaked downstairs to check on Cory, she's still sleeping but in a different position. I turned around and went back to my phone sitting on the bed. I pressed the green call button. Anxiety trembled throughout my entire body when she picked up.
"Mom?"
