Bella's P.O.V.
It's safe to say that a pack meeting was definitely a high priority on the list of 'to do's' we all seemed to be acquiring - find the specific people in the pack that matched the powers Matt and I were developing; learn to control said powers; train in human form; train in wolf form; ease the pack into the idea of facing a war that could potentially end the Lycan race...well the next few weeks? Months? however long left we have to prepare, is going to be fun...
A pack meeting had been scheduled for 7pm, at which time I will have to explain to the pack the details of what went on within my meeting with Nyx and we will discuss how to deal with the new information we held. I wasn't going to ask anyone to fight with me, whether they be man or woman, young or old, it just wasn't happening. This was my destiny, not theirs. I was the only 'gift from The Greats'. I am the only person who will be sent to battle some impending evil.I was the one who had the future of the Lycan race resting on their shoulders. I had no idea how I was going to manage it, but that doesn't mean I was going to rope everyone else into it or push the task onto anybody else's shoulders. That just wasn't right.
Since arriving home I had spoken to Leana, she wasn't happy that I was destined to risk my life, but then again who would be happy with the idea of their best friend inevitably staring death in the face, as much as I tried to talk her out of it, she's adamant she will be by my side every step of the way, all she kept telling me was that two are stronger than one, I couldn't disagree with that statement, but that didn't make me suddenly okay with the idea of her putting herself in harms way, but she's a stubborn one and there's no way anyone can stop her from doing something she's got her mind set on, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up, there's not a day that will go by between now and the battle that I won't try and stop her. Jayden had yet to be seen since we got back, Kat too; we're all assuming she hadn't taken the news well. As much as i keep saying that this is my task and my task alone, that's not quite accurate, due to our spiritual bond Jayden will also be fighting, as will Matt as he's my protector and then Kyron as he's my mate. the four of us are connected for a reason, the only way to win this war is to come together and fight as one. One missing link and we won't be able to save the race, that's as much as we've worked out.
Pack meeting in 15 minutes! Suddenly rang through my head...this is going to go one of two ways...
Once everyone had made their way into the main hall where pack meetings were usually held, Kyron quickly began addressing the matter at hand. "As most of you know, Bella and Jayden took a trip back home only recently returning, in this time some very important information was discovered. There's a war coming our way. A big one. It's completely unavoidable and something we're going to have to face head on, because of this, every capable pack member will begin training two hours a day, this may be unavoidable but that doesn't mean we can't prepare. I want every pack member at there strongest, I don't want any of you being put in a position you can't walk away from! Training begins tomorrow." With this being said, chaos erupted. Mothers began to cry, some of the men got angry whilst many were simply terrified of what was to come - and I don't blame them.
Desperately trying to be heard above the noise I began to add my input. "I'd just like to say, no pack member will be forced to fight, that wouldn't be fair, personally I didn't even want to bring this to everyone, this is my destiny and my destiny alone! Why should we ask anyone else to put their lives at risk...but unfortunately, it is completely unavoidable. The outcome of this war will decide whether or not the Lycan race continues to exist, that makes it bigger than just me. If I fuck this up that then affects everyone with the werewolf gene, even those with it dormant, that's hundreds upon thousands of people's lives this could affect...that this could destroy. Your futures are literally in my hands at this point, and honestly? The more help I can get, the better...I apologise again for bringing this to you all and please remember nobody is obliged to fight, it would just be greatly appreciated." And suddenly everyone was silent. The silence continued to stretch, uncomfortably hanging in the air, weighing down on every person in the room, until a small murmur was heard from the back of the room.
"You're the Hybrid Luna, the one from the prophesies."
Gasps erupted around the room, mutterings of the Hybrid Luna, how many thought she was nothing but a bed time tale, someone only in stories, it couldn't be right, could it?
"Yes. And the dangerous challenge I have to face is very real too. Something big is coming my way, and there's no stopping it."
There was another shout. "But how do you know all of this, how do we know it's true?"
"Whilst Jayden and I were away, I was summoned by The Moon Goddess, Nyx. She was the one who enlightened me, there is a lot more to the story she gave me, but I would be here forever if I went into it all, but long story short she told me there was a reason I am a Hybrid, Matt too - Matt's my protector hence why we both have this mark" I gestured to my forehead "we will both be gifted with a range of different powers in order to help up win this battle, the only issue is, we need to learn how to control them, there should be at least one member of this pack which was born with one of the gifts we develop, this is so they can teach us, help us prepare for this war. This, in no way, means you will have to fight, you can still avoid the battle and stay safe if that's what you'd prefer, we just need you to help with our training." I finished, at this point I didn't know what else to say, what else was there to say?
"Any questions?"Kyron's voice echoed across the hall. Silence. "Training begins tomorrow. Dismissed!" Everyone began trailing out, many pack members stopped to offer their help wherever they could, whilst others kept their head down, sadness and fear etched into their faces, their life was on the line here, could you blame them? Guilt filled me as I watched mothers clutching at their children, praying they don't lose them. I watched mates cling together in fear whilst others were being begged by their wives not to fight but also understanding that they believed it was the right thing to do. It was gut wrenching to watch and it killed me knowing I was the reason my pack was feeling like this. This was all down to me.
Warmth filled me as Kyron wrapped me in his arms, he knew the idea of asking other people to put their lives at risk was killing me, but he also firmly believed it was the right thing to do 'we are a pack' he'd tell me 'we'll be stronger together than apart'. I knew he was right, but that did't mean it was easy.
I cried out in pain as my hand began to burn, it felt like my hand had been forced into a fire, my left hand begin to glow a hot red before starting to spark and sizzle until it fizzed out leaving a wisp of smoke to drift towards the ceiling, when I looked back at my hand a small flame had been ingrained into to back of my hand, I'll assume fire to be my next power then. Seconds late Matt flew round the door,
"Squish! Look!" He thrusted his hand into my face, as i had expected he too bore the same mark, I guess that confirms it, we can now form and manipulate fire, and thankfully, I knew just the person to help me master it.
A/N
So, I'm not going to lie to you all, I've been a terrible writer. I admit, I had completely given up on this story. I love writing, I really do. But I've got so much going on at the minute; I'm in my second year of college and am drowning in coursework, I've just finished my University application - which was honestly the most stressful thing - as well as applying for jobs at any given minute. I've also got a lot going on in my personal life, which i'm not going to delve into on here... There was a time where i was uploading as often as possible and then i started to get too busy to write and the longer i didn't write for the less motivated i got.
I'm so so sorry guys! You're all amazing readers, and you're comments always make me smile. Thankyou for sticking around! But i fear i'm about to disappoint you all again. This update does not mean i've started writing regularly again. I found myself sitting with nothing to do so thought i'd try to add another chapter! I guess this means i haven't completely given up with this story, it just means it's going to be an agonizingly long process...it's been months since i last updated and i can genuinely say it's probably going to continue being months between updates...i just struggle to find time and motivation.
Again, I'm really sorry.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter though, and i'm sorry if it's pretty shit :/ Who do you think Bella is going to get to teach her how to control her fire though!?
Please vote and comment! I love reading what you've all got to say! As always, please correct any mistakes, i'd just appriciate it if you weren't rude about it!
Thankyou!
