While Roman was running an errand to get more chocolate chips during their slow hour of the day, a certain darkly dressed man entered the coffee shop. Patton looked up, smiling with pleasant surprise with a tiny dash of disappointment to see Virgil Black walking up to the counter unaccompanied by his sharply dressed friend.

"Afternoon Virgil!" he greeted lightly anyway, smiling at him. "Logan's not with you?"

"No, he's working late tonight," the darkly dressed man said with a slight smile. "He does that a lot, work late that is. I keep telling him he shouldn't overwork himself, but he doesn't really listen to me when it comes to those things. If he wants to do it, he'll do it."

They laughed a little, Patton smiling a little wider at the new information he'd received on his crush. "Anyway, is Roman here?" Virgil asked, looking around not-so-subtly for him.

"No, not at the moment, he's out getting more chocolate chips since we were running low and he knows there's at least one person who's gonna eat them," the baker replied with wink.

Virgil flushed, reaching up to rub the back of his head with an embarrassed chuckle. "He, um, he remembered?" he asked quietly.

Patton grinned seeing the perfect opportunity to make his friend look good for his crush. "Oh yeah, he loves to remember all the ticks and little things people do, especially people he likes, like one time, he made me a cupcake for my birthday and used my favorite color and flavor of icing! I didn't even tell him what it was, he just knew!" he gushed. "He's so sweet like that!"

"So uh... are you two... like, dating then?" he asked, sounding more put out than excited. The baker quickly reassured him they weren't.

"Oh, no no no, we're just friends," Patton explained with a kind smile. "I was just using that as an example of how sweet and thoughtful he is! Oh! He's also a super amazing singer!"

At this, Virgil smiled, looking down at the ground. "Yeah, I remember that," he said softly as if he was remembering it at that moment.

"He loves to sing, and he always tells me about when he gets a boyfriend he's going to serenade and sing to them all the time to sweep him off his feet," he continued, beaming at the slight blush that arose to the darkly dressed man's face. "He's a hopeless romantic, like will always buy you roses and chocolate and a plush on Valentine's Day, take you for a candlelight dinner date, write you a song kind of hopeless romantic. Do you want to know a secret through?"

He looked curious, nodding eagerly. "He totally loves doing all the stuff for his boyfriend or date, but he absolutely melts when someone does it to him," Patton said with a giggle. His eyes widened before looking down, as if he was making a note to remember this stuff. "He's a super amazing guy, I don't know how he's single."

"Yeah, me neither..." Virgil said quietly with a slight breathlessness to his voice. The baker smiled to himself, deeming what he'd done to be enough for the time being.

"Well, anyway, what can I get you this afternoon?"

Five minutes later, the darkly dressed man had his hot chocolate, with the regular amount of chocolate chips, and was out the door. Not a minute after he left, Roman burst into the cafe. "Patton!! You won't believe who I saw at the grocery store!" he gasped. "I bumped into Logan!"

"What!?" the baker squeaked. "Logan as in 'the super hot guy I have a crush on' Logan?!"

"Yeah!" the princely man exclaimed, hurrying behind the counter to put down the bag of chocolate chips. "He recognized me and we chatted for a little while! I totally bragged about you by the way."

He shot him a wink as Patton's who face flushed. "W-What? What did you tell him?!" he demanded nervously as his best friend laughed.

"I told him all about your puns, letting him know that you tend to do them more around people you like," Roman started, counting on his fingers. "I told him how much you love to bake and make treats, but your favorite thing is when someone else makes them for you as a gift. I said your favorite color was blue, that your favorite flower is a honeysuckle, that you love dogs and cats even though you're allergic to the later, and that you're the kindest and sweetest little ball of joy I know!"

The baker put his face in his hands and groaned with embarrassment despite the grin that was crossing his lips. "Roman, is that all you told him?"

"Well... no?" the princely man admitted with a bashful smile. Patton looked up, eyes wide as he silently demanded he continue. "Well, I may have subtly hinted at what your favorite frosting is, and that your birthday is in January."

"Roman!" he gasped, smacking his arm lightly. "Are you trying to rat me out?! He gonna know I have a crush on him!"

The princely man shook his head with a smile. "Don't worry, I was much more subtle," he reassured. Patton backed off, sighing as a smile crossed his face. He laughed at the irony of he situation. "What happened while I was gone?"

Roman was moving to put on his apron and pour the new chocolate chips into the container. Heat rose to his friend's cheeks as he shrugged. "Virgil came by, that's pretty much it," he said causally. There was a clattering noise, caused by the princely man dropping the empty container of chocolate chips as he whipped around to face him.

"What did you tell him?" he demanded as Patton giggled somewhat evilly.

"I don't know what you're taking about, Ro," he said, playing dumb. "He just said hi and ordered his drink and left."

Roman grabbed his shoulders. "What did you tell him, Patton?" he said more forcefully, causing him to burst out laughing. "I swear to god you better tell me!"

"Okay, okay, not too much," he said before launching into the story. By the end of it, Roman was red faced and gently knocking his head against the wall. "Oh come on! You did the same thing to me!"

"I was trying to help you!" he whined in response.

"So was I!"

The princely man looked over his shoulder, glaring at the baker's pouty face. They stared at each other before the two of them started giggling. Roman shook his head. "We're so screwed."
