**"Hey mum, hey dad! I'm home"

Nothing. "Mum ? Dad?" you shout. Still nothing.

'They can't have gone to bed already, it's only 9. Maybe they were just really tired.' you lock the door with the spare key behind you, and make your way into the hall to remove your shoes.
Something on the living room floor catches your eye. A dot of a liquid, catching the light from the TV. There's more. Curious, you make your way through the doorframe and to the sofa. A figure is standing, facing you. You can just make out their eyes; deep black. You've seen those before... Then the figure starts to laugh, a menacing and evil laugh full of blithe.
After an elongated few seconds, the figure jumps out the window and runs away. You don't go after them, you are just stunned, for what you see is enough to give anyone a nightmare. You parents lay dead on the floor, almost unrecognisable through all the blood and guts.**

You wake up, sweat pouring from your face and back. You roll over and turn your small bedside light on and sit up. It was just a nightmare. The nightmare. It keeps happening, ever since that night.

It's been almost 2 years now, and nothing is getting any better. The police still put the cause down to suicide but only you know the truth. But she got away. Mia was her name.

Mia used to be your best friend, until she got you into trouble with the police. You were out shopping and you didn't have enough money for a pair of earrings you adored. She tried to convince you to steal them, but you didn't. She, on the other hand, stole a pair she liked. You went to follow her, forgetting you still had the earrings in your hand. She got away, but you were so shocked, you just stood there. When the shopkeeper got to you, he called the police and you were taken away. They decided not to arrest you, but you had always been under their watch. Your parents protested and managed to get another hearing, but to make Mia get a sentence. She got 3 months in a youth prison and a permanent criminal record. After that, she was mad. And she killed your parents.
