Chapter 9

"So how did you and Mere meet" mama Rose asked I smiled "We met through our mutual friend Alicia" she smiled "So you know Alicia as well...that's good" I nodded "Listen Tiana I'm not going to beat around the bush with you....when was the last time you seem him" I got confused so I scrunched my face "Excuse me what do you mean" she sat up a little "Please don't play dumb with me that bruise you so badly hid on your neck gave you away so when was the last time" she asked then started to cough hard I handed her a cup of water and answered her question "I ran into him yeaterday" "Was it purposely" "Not at all...trust I despise that man with every bit of me being away from him two months taught me a lot I mean I new I deserved better all along but I loved him I mean I worshipped the ground he walked on but he didn't love me back...I was at my lowest of lows but then Amereria came along and she showed me how I deserved to be treated" I smiled thinking another it "She showed me love and care regardless of my situation she as the one that helped me out...." "What about that baby you carrying" I smiled "She knows and she still wanna be apart of our life even though we haven't been talking long I can see myself loving her".

"That's good because I raised her... I know she haven't told you bu y I'm dying I can't be here forever like she wants me to I just don't want that " she pointed to my neck "To happen again or for my baby girl to be gettin hurt because of ignorance" I nodded "Trust me mama Rose it won't happen again I keep my distance he just pops up but there's nothing to worry about" I assured her she smiled grabbed my hand and that's when the nurse and Mere came back in. "Ms. Rose today will be my last day I just wanted to say good bye" she spoke half smiling I looked at Mere to see her standing against the wall with her arms folded she only had on a beater and and basketball shorts and her dreads were hanging drapped down she looked good "Well ok Rochelle it was nice having you around" she nodded then walked off with her head down. "Ok mama can I have my girl back now I promised her and my baby movies and ice cream" Mere spoke up mama Rose laughed which sounding like a dry cough "Sure but come see me later" she nodded "Yes ma'am....come on Te" she said holding out her hand I got up and something in me made me wanna hug mama Rose so I did but was caught off when she hugged back "Remember what I said" she whispered I smiled nodded and grabbed Mere hand leaving. "So what you and mama talk about" she asked once we got to her room "Dang nosey nothing" she laughed "Umm hmm" "So why you fire her" "She got out of line" I just nodded.

"You wanna change" Mere asked once we got the movie in and snacks together "Yes please I would love some basketball shorts" she laughed "I don't know why you got them tight ass jeans on anyways" I shrugged took the shorts and t-shirt she was handing me "The bathroom right there" she pointed to a door across from the bed I nodded and went in. Soon as I came out she was against the head board so I climbed right next to her "Here's your ice cream I hope you like scary movies" I nodded taking my bowl from her she pressed play and the words MAMA appeared on the screen.

Kam...

After me Kah and Mila left the restaurant I had her follow me to my house we decided we were going to go back to my house and just chill. "Go change out them school clothes Kah" I said soon as we stepped in the house "Ok mama" she said taking off "Get comfortable Imma be back" I said to Lola she nodded I went up stairs to change out my work clothes into something comfortable. When I came back with my gym shorts and sports bra Lola just stared at all my tattoos I licked my lips then cleared my throat she snapped her eyes up to my face "One second" she said then went back to looking "All you gotta do is say the word and it's yours" I said she blushed "Whatever were my baby" she said just as if she knew Lola was looking for her she came running out her room in her hello kitty shorts and t-shirt.

We were chilling playing monopoly when I heard my front door open I didn't move cause it could only be two people Mere and my mom's. "Alicia who's ca--" I heard my mom asking "Oh I'm sorry " she said smiling looking at Lola "Nah it's cool mama this is Lola, Lola this is my mother" I said introducing the two Lola stood up and shook my mother hand "Nice to meet you ma'am" my mother smiled "Please call me Monique and it's nice to finally meet you" Lola sat back down "Is that my favorite grand baby" Kah giggled "I'm your only grand baby nana" they both left to the kitchen. "Stay the night with me" I asked once I sat back down "Ok Ltd me just run home get a change of clothes and tell my mom" she said I smiled tonight is the first night I would hold Lola in my arms after talk for a little bit she left but not without letting my mother know she would be back for dinner.

Mila....

"Ma....Momma" I came in the house hollering "She's gone" I heard Zeek yell from the kitchen I walked in there "Well she comes back can you let her know I'm staying at a friend's house tonight" I asked he looked at me for a moment "Your mother is ok with you staying out on a school night" "Yeah" I said nodding "Alright but if she cuss me out I'm blaming you" he said I lauhed "Alright thanks" walking to my room I looked through my clothes for a outfit tomorrow since its no snow on the ground I'm going to wear heels grabbing my black calf heels my black long sleeve shirt some blue jeans and a black grey and tanish cheetah print scarf and the black bag to go with it.

Making sure I packed everything in my Nike duffle bag including my mad about you body scrub and lotion with my Versace crystal perfume including all my hair products. Going back down stairs I see Zeek helping Mitch with his homework "Ok I'll see you all tomorrow after school" I kissed my brother forehead and walked out. "Where is she Lola" I heard behind me I turned to see Maurice "Nonya" I said walking to my car "Keep playing with me Lola and see what happens" "Try me and watch how I beat yo ass" I said closing my trunk "Is there a problem" Zeek said coming out "Nah this busta was just leaving" I said looking at Mo "Its cool I'll see you again" Mo said "Nah you won't if come near any of my kids including Tiana I will personally deal with you" Zeek said Mo walked away I thanked Zeek and went about my way.

"He really just popped up" Kam said I had just got done telling her about Mo popping up and Zeek defending me "Yea I'm just glad Zeek was there to help me...even tho I took those self defense lessons I know I can't beat a man without using some type of weapon too help me out" even though I talk a good game I'm not stupid. "So how do you like Zeek" she asked "He cool...I told him about you" she looked shocked "What he say" "I didn't tell him you were my teacher but he knows I really like you and he said as long as I'm happy he good" she nodded "He seem like a cool person I can't wait to meet him" I smiled "Come eat" her mom hollered. We went to the table I set next to Kah while Kam set next to her mom. "So Lola what are your plans after graduating" Monique asked "Well I was thinking about going to Wayne State University for journalism since I like writing I wanna be able to publish my own work" she nodded "What would your back up be if that didn't work out" I thought for a moment because I never really thought about it "Maybe a lawyer like my mother" she smiled "That's good people will always need a good lawyer" I smiled "I only have one question left" I looked at her to see the seriousness in her face "Ok" I said wiping my mouth "Are you ready for the life you are about to be come apart of not only is she your teacher abd get locked away but she's a mother can yu handle the responsibility of a child if this relationship last" I cleared my throat "Well Ms. Monique I believe I am not only am I willing to heart but my education as well this relationship doesn't only effect her it effects me as well just not a bad and I honestly believe I can handle Kahlia I it came down to it we have already bonded and when this relationship goes further I will accept whatever comes" she smiled big "I knew I liked you when I saw you" I laughed "Thank you" she nodded standing up removing plates from the table with Kam "Come on Kah let's wash you up" I said taking her hand. After giving her a bath and giving her two French braids I put her in bed and went to find Kam she was in her room I walked in and smiled looking at her lay there "Don't just stand there change so you lay with me" I closed th door went into my bag grabbing my pajamas which consisted of my black shorts and red cami after changing I threw my head into two French braids and climbed in bed next to Kam "My mother said she had a good time and she would like for you to come to this family gathering" she said pulling me to her I smiled "Yes I would love to" she smiled pecking my lips "Good now get some sleep....oh and thank you for putting Kah to bed" I yawned "No problem baby...good night" I felt her pull me closer kiss my head and say good night back.
