The small smile the world made Todoroki have dropped at the thought of Midoriya's words. He couldn't quite comprehend what he was saying. It felt like he knew in the back of his head but not on his tongue.

"What?" It was soft, almost inaudible, and was nearly swept away by the wind. Todoroki hadn't really taken the situation to heart. He was childishly thinking about the beauty of the boy in front of him. He would have never thought Midoriya's condition was nearly this bad.

He didn't want to say it again. That word left a bitter taste in his mouth that he's been trying to scrub away every night and morning for the past four days. "I'm dying." He stated again, simply. The words rang like bells in Todoroki head instead of an actual language, but the taller male understood their melody.

Suddenly, everything crashed down on him, the trap door of realization opening to dump all this information on him and connect the dots. He's been so dense to everything that involved the green-haired boy. His mental state. His sickness of the mind. His physical state. His thin frame. He couldn't quite grasp the realness of the situation, something in his head didn't allow him to.

All he could say was "Why?" He didn't mean to allow it to come out as dispirited as he did and he hadn't used this voice since before his mother was put in a hospital. It sounded like he was crying when he wasn't... yet.

Midoriya looked away, his eyes far off and frowning. "My body won't accept anything. I have problems breathing, using my senses, drinking, and I just can't keep food down. The orphanage owner tried to take me to therapy but we don't have enough time to fix me." Once again, Todoroki found himself at a loss of words and reactions, and the awkward silence commences. He didn't know if Midoriya felt the tension, too, or if it was in his head.

Meanwhile, Midoriya was too drained to read atmospheres, and he just turned on his heel and continued walking. Todoroki stood there, giving no sign of movement. A pain in Midoriya's chest erupted, causing him to question it. That was new. Was he having heart problems now? Maybe he'd die sooner than he thought.

Before he knew it, Todoroki had lost sight of Midoriya. He sighed, knowing that Midoriya's condition wasn't the only thing he suddenly made a mental connection about. He also became acutely aware of his own condition. His feelings, his... everything else. He wasn't really one for emotions, which made it hard to really comprehend his own. But he knew. Now he knew. Midoriya wasn't just Midoriya anymore.

Said boy paced in his room. Now he's gone and done it. He wasn't planning on telling anyone about his condition. Ever. It would just worry them. He wasn't worth worrying over. They had better things to dwell on, like their own careers and grades.

Suddenly, melancholy overtook his being and he kneeled next to his bed, letting out his tears. He was under so much stress, more physically than mentally but the stress was there. This was one of the few days in his schedule where he had no therapy, Fridays. Just Fridays. But he wouldn't live to see the next one.

His phone buzzed on his desk. When he remembered that he hasn't touched it since last Friday, he stood astonished it was still even alive. He approached the device cautiously like it would jump at him. He placed it on charge since it was at three percent and looked at his text.

"Uraraka-

Hey, Deku! We were thinking about going shopping for bathing suits for this summer's camp! Let's go! Will you come?"

Midoriya debated what he would say. Should he go, it would be really tiring and someone might notice his fatigue. Should he not, they would get suspicious of his absence and people would worry. He debated the pros and cons and ultimately decided not to go.
