Shoot, do it

Midoriya stared at the boy that laid beneath him with wide eyes. The boy that was practically kissing the ground could see the cogs in Midoriya's mind turn with great difficulty. Realization slowly came over the green-haired boy. Trinity never ordered him to not talk to other people. But this only made him more confused, because that seemed like such an obvious issue for her, so why did both him and Trinity forget it completely?

The sound of screams from the other side of the building caught Midoriya's ear and he turned his attention to it without moving a muscle. Either Trinity just started whatever she was planning to do or something's gone horribly wrong. Tears rose to his eyes as he finally found something that could help the students in the building before it's too late.

"You can shoot that thing right?" The green-haired boy silently cheered for still being able to speak. Todoroki, who was quietly watching Midoriya inquire, now had his chance to look confused.

"Yeah. Why?" Todoroki narrowed his eyes at the boy above him as he stared back down at his heterochromatic eyes with an uncanny intensity. Midoriya's eyes practically glowed green with seriousness.

"Please shoot me." Todoroki's eyes widened to a degree Midoriya did not think was possible. He glanced down at how the gun was positioned. Now he may not be an expert on organ placement but he was sure there was no way he was getting around shooting an organ. The barrel of the gun was positioned right above his navel.

The navel that Todoroki was sure was plump, finally filled with the right amount of food. The navel that belonged to the boy he held so dearly. He couldn't possibly shoot him, not in the navel, not in the foot. He couldn't even shoot him a dirty look, let alone a bullet. It started off slow, but he was eventually shaking his head rapidly. As much as the position they were in would let him.

"No. No, I can't do it." He protested, feeling emotions he couldn't even begin to describe.

"You have to, she's going too far with whatever she's doing. Do it! Please, do it, Todoroki!" He was getting desperate, not even knowing what was fueling him to raise his voice. Todoorki's hands trembled as he pulled between obeying Midoriya and keeping his health in priority. Tears brimmed his eyes as he squeezed them shut. His hand clenched around the handle, only to unclench, repeating this process over and over as he denied all of Midoriya's pleads.

"No! No, you can't possibly expect me to harm you!" He finally buckled under the pressure, shouting out.

"Why not!? We hurt each other plenty during the festival!" Midoriya clenched his eyes against the feeling of the barrel of the gun burning a shaky path into his stomach with every place it touched. He knew that if he lived to see it, there would be a bruise where it jabbed against him.

"It was different then!" Todoroki retorted defiantly, trying to get the words he's wanted to tell Midoriya for so long out of his mouth.

"Different how!" Please, just do something! Midoriya couldn't take the intensity anymore! He just felt like breaking down. He felt like he was going insane!

"Different because I didn't love you then like I love you now." The heterochromatic boy slumped against the floor, the gun that was slowly scraping across Midoriya's stomach rattled onto the ground, finally being free of its confinements. Now even if he wanted to shoot the green-haired boy, he couldn't.

Midoriya's stiff body lost all its tensity. All is lost; his strength, his fear, his shackles, and for a moment there, his sanity. Had he really asked Todoroki to shoot him? Could he see no other way out of this situation? Or did he not look? Either way, it didn't matter now, because the pain in his head as it hit the ground seemed like a bigger deal to him.
