Chapter 8

---A month later, September 13th---

---Lyn's POV---

I had been working on homework for an hour and then I remembered it was time for diner with all of my friends. Well, not all of them...I have a lot of friends. I went with Mallory, Luke, Cris, Gianna, Jake, Bryce, Caleb, and Jackson. I know you may be confused right now. "Who is Jackson? you may ask. Well... Jackson is a boy from the lacrosse team. He is the hottest guy in school and is also best friends with all of my friends and me. Oh, and when I say hot I mean HOT, maybe even hotter than Jake. Jackson had dirty blonde hair, nice blue eyes, a strong body build, his ears pierced like Jake, and he was 6'2. (he was the same height as Jake) Anyway, we all decided to go to the cafe that we always go to and hang out. 

Before I left I did my usual. Took a shower, brushed my teeth, put on some clothes, and left with Jake. Lately Jake and I have been talking a lot. We had a talk the day after he found out about Grayson and we cleared everything up with each other. There was one thing I still decided not to tell him though...that I had strong feelings for him. 

We walked downstairs and got into Jake's car and decided to blast some Post Malone, because why not. After that, we turned up the volume and blasted 107.7 until we got to the cafe. Then we got out of the car and stepped into the cafe and got immediately spotted by our squad. 

"Over here!" Caleb yelled and then gave us both a smile.

"Ahh, the party's here now boys," Bryce said and then the whole table joined in laughter. 

Me and Jake headed to the back of the cafe to our usual spot. Whenever the squad got together we always sat in the very back at a huge 10 person booth in the corner and every time we came there Bill, the owner and manager, had three plates of hot fries waiting for us.  After we made it over to the table I hopped over the booth behind ours and jumped in next to Gianna and Jackson, while Jake calmly walked over and sat next to Bryce on the end. 

"So what's up?" asked Luke

"Not much," Jake said with his usual smile. 

"Sorry we were a little late," I said. "I had to finish my homework for Ms. Alani. 

"Are you sure about that?" asked Gianna with a sly smile nudging me in the side. 

"Yea, are you sure you guys weren't doing something else," Bryce said looking at Jake.

"What," I said not knowing where this conversation was going. 

"Let's be real here guys," said Cris pushing his glasses onto his nose. 

"Yea, they were telling the truth the first time guys," said Caleb

"No, I was going to say that they were about to do it even though it is illegal to do in the dorms but they are kind of rule breakers. Then they remembered that today they had to go be social and they decided to put their shirts back on and show up." Cris said blushing a little because he knew Gianna wasn't going to like what just came out of his mouth. 

"Oh my god, Cris!" I said raising my voice. "Really?! Was that necessary?!"

We all then started laughing a ton and watching Jake fall off of the booth and blush looking straight at me. 

Then our waiter came and took our orders. I ordered a salad, Jake ordered Chili, Jackson and Bryce ordered a burger with fries, Luke shared pretzel bites with Mallory, Gianna ordered a pizza, and Cris ordered breadsticks. We all also just ordered waters so that we wouldn't have to make it to hard for the waiter. After we all got our food we talked and ate. 

"So, does anyone have any tea to spill?" Mallory asked

"Not me," I said

"Nope," said Jake

Everyone said no except for Jackson.

"I do have something but it's pretty stupid," he said looking down. 

"What is it?" asked Luke

"Am I going to have to kill you after you spill it?" asked Bryce with a laugh.

"Maybe," Jackson said and then smiled.

"Spill it, pretty boy," said Gianna sarcastically. 

"Fine." he said, "I-

Before he could finish Lexi walked in, the school's meanest girl that everyone hates. BTW, she is Jackson's friend's sister. And she has a crush on Jackson. 

"What the hell Jackson!?!?" Lexi stormed in and smacked Jackson in the face. "Why would you say that to Cayden?" 

"Uhh..." Bryce began. "What's going on?"

"Your little friend Jackson called Cayden an idiot and then they fought. My poor little boyfriend, Cayden, now has to volunteer in the library and he doesn't get to spend time with me." Lexi said making a big deal about it and then running away crying. 

"That was weird," I said looking over at Jackson and seeing that he still had a red mark on his face where Lexi had slapped him. 

"Yea. Anyway, I was going to tell you guys that after practice last month me and Cayden had a little argument and then he punched me so I knocked him out and left. Then he got caught and they made him volunteer but they let me off with a warning." Jackson said

"God man," said Bryce. 

"why didn't you tell us that Jack?" asked Luke

"Yea. I would have joined you in the beating of Cayden," said Jake

"I don't know. I just thought it was stupid so I kept it a secret." Jackson said

Then Bryce told everyone what happened to me in the parking lot of the cafe the same day. We then all finished up and headed back to our dorms and houses. And me and Jake watched TV together for an hour and we went to sleep.
