Revealing the past

I wake up feeling warm and cozy, I wiggle a bit and feel arms wrap tighter around me. I smile and wiggle more and they go even tighter. I feel playful so I start swinging the hammock by rocking my body.

"What are you doing?" I hear Natsu ask a little annoyed

"Swing!" I say happily like a little kid and continue swinging the hammock

"It's a hammock not a swing."

"But it swings like a swing so it's a swing!" I say still sounding like a kid

"And people say I act like a child..." he groans

"Sorry daddy. I'll stop." I say in a kids voice and stop swinging. I feel him flinch and tense up

"Wh-what did you say?" He stutters

"Sorry! Did I upset you? I was just playing around..." I say in my normal voice and try to turn to face him but can't.

"No. You didn't. Just. No ones ever said that before. They always call me a kid or child. Being called daddy felt....different. Kinda nice actually." He says in a tone of voice I never heard before. He sounded so content. Like he was happy.

"Well don't get used to me calling you daddy." I say flatly

"Awww why not? It was cute." He teases

"Because for one your not my daddy. Two we don't have any kids together so there's no reason for me to call you that. Three I have daddy issues. Major ones. So I'd rather avoid it. I just said it to tease you since you were acting like a dad when I wanted to play."

"What's your daddy issues?"

"It's difficult to explain." I say sadly. "It's easier to show you." I try to get out of the hammock but can't. "I swear this thing hates me. We need to get a real bed." I grumble and fall back on Natsu who's chuckling like a idiot.

"Awww does Y/N need help from daddy? Don't worry daddy's got you." Natsu says in a baby talk voice and I groan loudly. He easily gets out of the hammock and I growl at him.

"I regret ever saying anything now." I growl and he laughs. "Fine I'll play along on one condition. Keep that daddy stuff to when we're alone! Ok?" I growl and glare at him and he nods. "Good now get me out of here."

He grins at me mischievously. "Grrrrrrrrr.......fine. Daddy please help me?" I ask in a kids voice and he smiles and helps me up. "DON'T make this some weird fetish ok? Cause that's just creepy and weird." I scold him and he pouts.

"Ok fine." He grumbles and frowns.

"Thank you. Now let's go to the guild. I want to see something." I tell him and go to get dressed.

We reach the guild and I head straight for the request board. I scan and scan and scan all over the board until I see it. A flyer for a job near my home town.

"Here!" I shout and grab Natsu's attention.

I show him the flyer and he starts laughing.

"What's so funny?" I ask Natsu who is now rolling on the floor laughing like a idiot.

I stand there and fold my arms across my chest. He soon draws the attention of his friends who come up to us.

"What's going on? What's so funny?" Erza ask and I shrug.

"I just showed him this job I want to take and he started laughing." I tell her flatly and show her the paper. She immediately rolls her eyes and looks at Natsu.

"I swear he's so immature. He's laughing because the location is called mount baldy." She says seriously and Natsu laughs harder.

"Your such a dork." I giggle at Natsu
