Chapter 6

Part 1

Kimberly’s POV

I walked into the kitchen, and smelled the air. I caught a hint of Onyx’s sweet, sweet scent, and another wolf’s smell. The weird thing was, I only smelled one wolf. I could have sworn there were more…

Weren’t there more?

My thoughts were brought to an abrupt halt when I heard a low growl, and Onyx moving.

I ran over to the window, hastily moving the blinds, and peered out the window.

What I saw shocked me, sending chills of fear and anger up and down my spine, causing me to shiver.

The trees casted dark shadows across the clearing, as lightning flashed above.

I could just bareley make out two dark figures, one in wolf form, and the other in human form.

The one is wolf form was the Head Alpha of the U.S.A., and he was growling at the human infront of him.

Wait a second,

That was Onyx!

Mark, the head alpha was growling at Onyx, clearly wanting a fight.

 HE WAS GROWLING.

AT MY Mate.

IN AN ATTACK STANCE.

I saw red on the edges of my vision, as I kicked the back door right off its hinges, charging through the door frame into the night air. The cool night air hit my face, as he lunged at my mate.

In a without a second thought or care, I jumped, and shifted in mid-air into my large, black wolf.

My wolf was out for blood. And blood she would get.

Time slowed, and I collided with his side, causing the Alpha, Mark, to grunt. He fell to the side, and was stunned.

His dark brown wolf was furious. He growled at me, glaring, and leaped at me, a crazed look in his brown eyes.

I twisted around, when something invaded my thoughts.

He is doing my dad’s signature move!

This time, I knew I would be ready.

I had to be, or I would be dead, and all the hard work my parents had done to keep us safe, would be down the drain.

He leaped at me, but I dodged to my left, swiping my claws out to scratch down his left side, enjoying the feel of his blood on my claws.

He howled in pain as I quickly spun around, anticipating his next move.

I had spun around just in time to see him, muscles tense, about to lunge at my throat.

I slashed his nose, yipping with joy when I saw the blood.

He was stunned, and howled in pain, trying to lick his bloody nose.

I saw this as my window of opportunity, and lunged, teeth bared, at his back right leg.

I sank my teeth into his warm flesh, using all of my strength to bite down as hard as possible. I started shaking my head side to side. I remembered what my dad had said, he said go for the back legs first, because they need their back legs to attack, and to move.

Mark howled in pain, and growled at me. He snapped at my head, but couldn’t reach it.

I let out a wolf like laugh, and shook his leg one more time, and then dropped it, and jumped to the side, out of the way.
