submerge me   /    07.05.18

all I see is deep green,
bubbles ascend to the surface
as the tips of seaweed
run along my spine.
I am floating.

all I hear are waves,
crashing gently onto rocks.
sea foam fills the air,
the breeze drifting off.
and I am floating.

all I feel are the mouths
of colorful fish surrounding
my finger tips.
they come up for air
as sunlight pours over me.
the seagulls scream in delight
and I know I am floating.

all I sense are the clouds of
sand that wrap around
my limbs and I know
that right now is when the
sharks will swim. their smooth
fins cut through the ocean as
they grin with sharp teeth and
black eyes. we are
floating.

here, I float in peace.
I am warm in the light
of this ocean, my ocean.
my mind, that is what this is.
it is the sea of my mind.
and it is filled with thoughts
alike the creatures
of the deep. my sea is home
to thoughts. beautiful,
dark, and lively thoughts.
they are floating.
