three a.m. shower thoughts / 26.12.18
I sit, they'd say, in
silence.
I lay, uncomfortably.
not because my
mind keeps shifting
in aggravation
but rather because my body
is moving to find
a place to curl into.I'm unable to calm
myself with mythree a.m.
shower thoughts.this bed is hard as
rock with pillows that
seem to fold in on themselves
and I try to sleep so
I do, folding in on myself.
but then I awake
for seemingly no reasonand now I'm sitting
here with mythree a.m.
shower thoughtsbut then I discover
why my body jolts
me from an unnerving
sleep. it is because I sensed
you, deep in my thoughts.
you needed me and
I needed you.we wanted one another just
so we could share ourthree a.m.
shower thoughtsback and forth, we
begin sharing. joking, feeling
for another with ourselves.
I am constantly curling into myself
and you, folding into you.
but now we are not lost.
I have found something, and
you as well. together, we
have found something that
does not contract.now, we have something that
blossoms just like ourthree a.m.
shower thoughts.
