Shannon POV

"Cam," I shouted from the couch.

I could hear her in the kitchen, "hm?"

"Will you get me a beer please?" I requested.

She walked back in, beer in hand, rolling her eyes. "You're so lazy," she handed me the beer but before I could grab it she pulled it back again, and pointed to her lips.

I grabbed her shirt and pulled her onto the couch, "thanks," I paused, "fiancé," I whispered with a smile on my face before kissing her.

"You're going to use the fact that I melt when you say that to your advantage, aren't you?" She asked knowingly.

I furrowed my eyebrows and shook my head. "I like saying it just as much as you like hearing it."

She sighed with a happy smile on her face, now handing me my beer and perching herself next to me on the couch. "We're really going to get married, huh?" she said almost to herself while looking off in the distance.

I sipped my beer, "mhm."

Later on we were still sitting on the couch. We had just finished some cheesy lifetime movie that we both really got into. Cam was just flicking through channels afterwards and stopped on a show called Weeds.

"Have you ever smoked weed?" I asked curiously.

She giggled, "a couple times before I met you." I nodded. "Have you?" She asked. I nodded again.

We both looked at each other with different expressions on our faces. Hers was curious and mine was mischievous.

"What are you thinking, Shannon Beveridge?" She asked.

I raised my eyebrows. "We should try it together," I chuckled. She continued looking at me skeptically, I'm guessing she was questioning whether I was being serious or not. "Come on. It's legal in California," I reasoned.

She laughed and shook her head, "you're full of surprises. Whatever, let's do it."

I was shocked, honestly. I expected her just to tell me I was crazy and we'd go back to watching TV and forget it ever happened. Mostly, I was excited. I used to smoke with Ally in high school, and I started doing it again before I met Joanna, but stopped after we started dating. I never really did it for any particular reason other than that it was fun.

Later on, Cammie and I went to the dispensary in our neighborhood. Cammie insisted we stop and get snacks on the way back for when she had the munchies, so we stocked up on literally everything we could think of. Ice cream, chips, candy, pizza rolls. I don't know what we were thinking buying that much food, but we did it anyway.

When we got home we sat outside by the pool and smoked the joint. Cammie coughed like crazy after her first hit and I laughed at her.

She slapped my arm, "you're such a jerk! I haven't smoked in over a decade."

I just kept laughing and took a bigger hit to try and show off, only I took way too much and started coughing pretty bad too, which made her laugh at me.

We managed to finish the joint without coughing the rest of the time, but that was only once we'd contained our laughter.

I immediately began feeling it when we'd finished smoking, but it wasn't too strong yet. Cammie, on the other hand, seemed like she was feeling the full effects only ten minutes after coming inside.

I heard her giggling on the other side of the couch, and I hadn't even realized I'd completely zoned out staring at the TV.

"We should play hide and seek," Cammie gasped excitedly.
