Chapter Two

The next day Alina looked through her email to see if there was a reply to the application that she sent in to Shield Core. If not, she was going to look through more job opportunities and apply for something else. She watched her inbox load while holding her breathe and feeling her heart wanting to beat out of her chest. Once the inbox opened she saw an email from Shield Core and started to hyperventilate. She never thought that they would have responded to her application that quickly. After taking a couple of deep breaths she opened the email and read through it. She saw that some man named Woodland Demars wanted to interview her tomorrow afternoon. She figured that he was the owner of the company and replied that she was free and would be there at 12pm. Alina was so excited that she couldn't contain the shriek that came out after she hit send. The rest of the day Alina was trying to find the perfect outfit for her interview.

Alina stood outside of the large 25 floor building the next day at 11:30am. She was smoothing down her white blouse and gray knee length skirt with her sweaty hands. She closed her eyes and took a couple of deep breaths before entering the building. Alina pulled out her phone to make sure that she was going to be heading to the right office. Okay floor 25 and room 5. That doesn't seem to hard, she thought as she was headed to the elevator.

Once Alina got to the room she saw a desk sitting in front of the door and walked up to the woman sitting there.

"Hello, how may I help you?" Mariah asked.

"Hello, I'm Alina Lunt...uh I am here to see Mr. Demars about the front desk position," replied Alina. "I have a noon interview with him."

"Okay I will let him know, if you would take a seat please," Mariah responded while pointing over to the chairs. Mariah called Woodland's phone and waited for him to answer. "Sir, your noon interview is here. Okay right away, Sir." Mariah turned to Alina and smiled, "Mr. Demars will see you now."
