One's Promised

Chapter Four

Just as Woods said there was a man at the front desk setting up the computer. Alina couldn't see his face though because he was on the floor and under the desk.

"Excuse me?" she said trying not to scare the man.

Tanner was happy that the company found another front desk worker, but he didn't want to leave his office to go set up a computer. All he could think was, what kind of crazy person destroys a computer because they don't like their boss. It's not like that was going to cause the boss any problems, just the IT department. Tanner was under the desk on his back trying to connect the last wire when a voice startled him. He jumped and tried to sit up quickly to see who it was. Bang! Tanner groaned and held his forehead as he crawled out from under the desk.

Alina knelt down next to Tanner and said, "Oh god, I am so sorry, I was trying not to scare you. Is there anything I can do to help?" She reached out and grabbed Tanner's hand that was holding his forehead. The second time in one day Alina felt a warm, tingling sensation run through her body. Tanner felt the same thing once her hand touched his. Just like with Woods, it started from their soulmate marks and ended in their hearts.

As Alina was staring at Tanner she realized that he had short blonde hair, a beard and mustache combination, and light blue eyes. As Tanner was staring at Alina he realized she had curly, long brown hair, and hazel eyes. He stood up quickly off the ground with Alina's help and had a huge smile on his face. Alina was surprised at how tall Tanner was and Tanner was surprised how short Alina was. Tanner had to look down at Alina's 5'4" body while Alina had to look up at Tanner's 6'4" body.

"Uh...uhm...hi I'm Tanner Malmedal, manager of the IT department," Tanner stuttered forgetting about the throbbing pain in his head as he stared in to Alina's eyes.

Alina blushed, pushing hair behind her ear, and replied, "It's nice to meet you Tanner. I am Alina Lunt, I was hired as the new front desk receptionist. Mr. Demars told me to come here so you can show me how the system works."

Tanner couldn't wipe the huge smile off his face as he was showing his soulmate how the system worked. He realized that now he only had one soulmate left to find, but at this time he didn't care. He was talking to and helping the prettiest girl ever and she was meant to be his for the rest of their lives. When Tanner finished showing Alina the system and how to work it the building was closing. They said goodnight to one another and headed home. Alina was happy she found both her soulmates, but right now she liked Tanner more than Woods.
