I furrow my brows. What makes him think he had the right to to just fling me in a limo and whisk me away to his place?
"Y-your p-place I croak?"
Romeo refilled his glass without even glancing my way.
"What makes you think I wanna go to your place?"I asked.
He downs the glass and ignores me. "Stop the car!" I yell.
But the car continued to move. I unlock the door and grab at the handle. Romeo finally looks up and arches a brow, obviously amused. We stare at each other in silence until he speaks. "You wanna kill yourself?"
I feel the car pick up speed, causing me to fall back in my chair. Romeo looks between the door then back at me. He nods his head. "Go ahead then," his eyes held intensity. "I dare you."
I gulped as we glared at each other. His steely blues eyes never left mine and I felt that I had no other choice but to back down. Obviously I wasn't crazy. Slowly I took my hand off the door handle, placing it in my lap. I looked down. Romeo mumbled an, "I didn't think so." before going back to ignoring me.
"I feel that I should have a say in this." I say breaking the silence.
"A say in what?" he responds surprisingly, taking a swig of his drink.
I look up to meet his gaze. "A say in whether or not I want to go with you to your place. You're practically a stranger and I don't even know you. Besides," I add. "You still haven't told me why you're taking me away."
Romeo gave me an annoyed look. "How daft can you possibly be?"
I gasp, speechless of what to say. He continued to stare at me without saying a word.
"I-I am n-not d-daf-" he cuts me off.
"It's obvious that the rogues know where you live now. I don't know how, but they probably followed us last week when I dropped you off there. The point is, they know about you, your location, and that you're somehow affiliated with me." He says nonchalantly.
My eyes widen at his words. "What in the world would ever make them think that? I'm not affiliated with you, matter of fact I don't even know you!"
Romeo takes out his phone, disinterested in our conversation. He remains silent as he continues to thumb at his phone. Suddenly I become angry. Angry at the fact that Romeo, a complete stranger has put my life in complete danger and is now ignoring me after having the audacity to toss me into his car as if I was just some kind of inconsequential human being.
Without giving it a second thought, I leaned forward and slapped Romeo hard. "Stop this dam car now!" I yelled.
Realizing what I'd just done, I regret my actions immediately. Romeo looked stunned and somewhat surprised, but in an instant the expression was gone. Perhaps gone with my life knowing that he'll most definitely be murdering me any moment now. I too was shocked. I swallowed the lump in my throat as Romeo brought a hand up to touch his now red cheek.
"I'm s-sorr-," before I could even finish my sentence, Romeo had dropped his drink and cigarette lunging forward. His hands instantly grab at my neck, instantly preventing air from reaching my lungs.
He growled, causing me to mentally question if he was still human. I watched in horror as his eyes turned from steely blue to a cloudy black instantly. I was beyond mortified. His grip tightened around my neck as he inched in closer. Dark spots begin to cloud my vision as Romeo continued to press on.
"P-please," I wheezed. "I c-can't breathe." My words were barely audible. Darkness finally took over me and the only thing I remember was Romeo seething, "Je vais te tuer."
