Chapter 23

It was the first day of my suspension. Dad woke me up as usual so that I could get dressed and grab my stuff as I would be going to my grandparents while my dad was at work. I know that I am old enough to stay home by myself, but my dad doesn't trust me to not break any of his ridiculous and annoying rules.

I got dressed in a tshirt and sweatpants grabbed my school work and went downstairs. When I got downstairs breakfast was ready. Dad had made scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I ate a little of each and then Dad walked me to my grandparents so that he could explain the rules of my grounding which included: work on schoolwork, help with chores, no electronics, no going outside unsupervised, and no visitors. Then Dad told me to be good and left for work.

After dad left, I helped grandma clean up the kitchen and did the dishes and then I sat at the kitchen table and worked on my schoolwork. By lunch time I completed my math, Spanish, and history homework that would be due tomorrow. I was at a good stopping point so I helped grandma make lunch which was grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. I started to get a headache as we were eating so I asked if I could take a nap. Both my grandparents agreed that since I had been productive all morning an hour nap would be ok so I went and laid down in what was considered my room at their house.

An hour later Grandma came in to wake me up but I rolled over and refused to wake up. After a few more tries she gave up and went and got Grandpa. Grandpa came in ripped the blankets off and told me to get up to which I responded "Fuck you old man, leave me alone." Grandpa of course was angry now. He grabbed my ear and dragged me out of bed and into the bathroom. He pushed me so that I was sitting on the toilet and grabbed a new bar of soap and ran it under the water to sud it up. When I refused to open my mouth, he pinched mu cheeks until I had no choice. He then made me sit there with the bar of soap in my mouth for 5 minutes while he lectured me about my choice of language and reminded me that letting me take a nap was a reward for being so good this morning and that they were trying to be reasonable but I had more that needed to be done as Dad told them he wanted all the work that would be due tomorrow to be done by the time he came to pick me up.

Grandpa took the bar of soap out and let me spit but not rinse. I apologized and gave Grandpa a hug. Grandpa told me to go to my room and stand in the corner and that he'd be there shortly. About 15 minutes later grandpa came in and pulled out my desk chair and sat down. He called me over told me pull down my pants and underwear and get over his lap. I did as I was told. He started with no warning with his hand

Then he grabbed the wooden spoon and continued.

I got up and was crying. I pulled my pants and underwear up and sat in his lap and apologized. I then went and worked on my schoolwork and finished everything that was due tomorrow by the time my dad came. When he asked how I was grandma and grandpa both told them I behaved because they decided that I had been punished enough and they know my dad's policy if I misbehave for someone elsr and they punish me, he will also punish me.
