I watch Brennan's chest as it slowly rises up then down as he sleeps. I slowly draw a circle on his chest with my index finger, and I rest my head on his shoulder.

I guess that woke him up, because his long arm wraps around me. "Good morning, beautiful."

"Good morning." I smile, and adjust myself so we're face to face.

He softly pecks my lips. "Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up like this every morning?"

"What are you proposing, Brennan?" I raise my eyebrows with a teasing smile.

"You to be my girlfriend." He says with no hesitation. Grayson wouldn't have the confidence. He'd get too nervous, then procrastinate about it the rest of his life. I can add this to list I like of Brennan:

Handsome
Sweet
Funny
Smart
Kind
Talented (well, he can cook pizza and doughnuts, which is talented in my book)
Confident

"I would love that." I say, making Brennan flip me over on the bed, making me giggle.

"Good." He kisses me, a lasting kiss, then pulls away and stands from the bed. I watch as he picks up his discarded clothes from last night and puts them in a pile on the floor, then gets dressed in a Duke shirt and basketball shorts. Brennan grabs my bra, underwear, and romper, then hands them to me. "I'll take you to practice."

I rather not wear my romper to practice, but I decide to not argue. I slip my undergarments on, then my romper, then my sandals. When we walk out, it's chilly (at least for October) and Brennan runs back inside. A second later, he comes back out with a jean jacket, and slips it around my shoulders, bringing a smile to my face.

Just like when Grayson gave me his jacket.

When we walk into Cameron, there's balloons everywhere and a table with cake, chips, and... cheese grits.

   Fuck.

   "I forgot it's Grayson's birthday today." I tell Brennan.

"Well, now you know." He smiles at me then kisses my cheek. "I have to help set up for the party."

"Alright." I give him a smile, then walk to the bleachers, where Hanna already sits.

   "So..?" She asks.

   "We're a couple now."

"That's obvious, from the handholding and kissing and you-wearing-his-jacket shit. I mean, what happened last night?"

"Ohhh." I laugh. "We ate pizza, then each other."

"You could've just said you had sex, you know."

"I have better vocabulary than to use it like that."

Hanna rolls her eyes. "Was he any good?"

"He was super good, I was shocked. He knew all the ways to make me moan."

   "Gross." Hanna laughs.

"You'll understand when you finally have sex for the first time."

"Sure. Oh, hey, there's Sherry! Probably here for Grayson's party." Hanna points to the door, and yep, she's right, beloved Sherry is standing there, talking with Coach.

I run down the bleachers and to them. By the time I reach them, Sherry has noticed me, so she has her arms extended out for a hug, which I immediately take. Sherry is basically my mom, since she cares much more about me than my actual mother, even though I've broke her son's heart.

"It's been sooo long!" I tell her.

"I know! We need to have lunch together soon."

I gasp. "That would be the best thing ever."

"I heard you and Grayson slept together the other night." She says, wiggling her eyebrows, and my cheeks burn.

"Wait, What?!" Grandpa asks, but I ignore him.

"That was just a rumor." I lie. "Brennan and I are together now."

"Well, not a bad choice."

"Agreed." I turn to grandpa. "Ask Brennan to explain everything." I quickly run off back to Hanna, and just as I do, the guys run in.

   "Everyone hide!" Brennan yells.

All the guys, Grandpa, and Sherry hide somewhere in the bleachers, while me and Hanna roll our eyes and just lie back on the bleachers.

I can hear everyone yell, "Surprise!" And I look up. Grayson's standing in the door, his face solemn as he stares at everyone.

"Happy birthday!" Brennan yells, attacking him from the back with a hug, making me have to bite back a laugh.

Grayson shrugs him off and gives  a tight smile. "Thanks, guys." He walks over to Sherry and gives her a hug, then grandpa a hug. He sees the food table and shakes his head. "Uh, Thanks, but I'm not hungry."

They all groan. "More for us, then," Trevon says, and they all start serving themselves, including Hanna.

Grayson looks up at the bleachers and sees me. I smile at him, but he just turns away. I sigh, but regain my smile when Brennan appears at my side.

"Hey gorgeous." He says, wrapping an arm around me and eating with the other.

"Hi babe." I kiss his cheek then rest my head on his shoulder. I watch as Grayson walks around, talking with everyone. I wish I could just hug him and apologize for everything.
