Fractured Voice (Sidon x Link)

Or The one where Sidon hears Link laugh for the first time and it's a spiritual experience for him
(I dont own this game series in case I've never mentioned it before, but these stories are mine)

All this time, he never realized it until it happened. He had never experienced this before. Ever since the moment they met that day on Inogo Bridge he only ever heard the hero's voice in its seriousness. This new tone, this sound, it was different. It wasnt serious with the graveness it usually held. It was light. It was airy. It was divine. He was laughing, laughing so openly, so freely, it made Sidon's heart soar. Before he knew it, he was laughing too. Other Zora who happened to walk past the two smiled at their prince as they had never seen him quite as happy as he is when he's with the Hylian. No one even saw it coming.

-Flashback Time-

Sidon and Link were sitting and talking as they usually do on the upper level of Zora's domain. Muzu happened across the two during his walk around the domain. As a member of the council, Muzu was well trusted by Sidon. So much so that Sidon trusted him enough to tell him of his feelings for the hero. This was of course months ago. The Calamity is over now, and Muzu is growing tired of Sidon's constant excuses for not telling the hero his feelings. Today was the day Muzu would like to speed things along. "Ah Sidon! There you are! Ah and I see you're here with Link as well. How have you been Link?" Link smiled and waved at Muzu, a sign everyone has learned to interpret as everything is going well. Sidon almost paled as he looked between Link and Muzu's mischievous eyes, what was he planning? "You know Sidon, now that the Calamity is no longer looming over our heads, now would be the perfect time to pursue a relationship. He wouldn't. Sidon gave Muzu a stern look, wordlessly expressing that very thought. "And you Link, all of this free time to relax now, I hardly ever see you leave the domain. Always beside Sidon." Link chuckled nervously and blushed looking away. Exactly the reaction Muzu was looking for. Sidon continued to glare daggers at his head, but it was too late. "You know Link.. Sidon here is a real catch." Muzu couldn't even finish his thought before an odd sound left Link's throat. Muzu and Sidon stared at him confused before he erupted into full blown laughter. "Link? What is so funny?" Sidon asked still confused. Link was in tears, clutching his side as he tried to speak through his laughter. "Y-you.. Y-you're a real catch!" Link barely managed to get out before laughing again. Sidon stared at him a little longer before it finally hit him. The reason Link was laughing. He was a real catch. It was a fish pun. Anyone who knew Link knew he loved a good pun. Slowly Sidon joined Link in his laughter, the sound spreading through the entirety of the domain. Sidon had never heard Link laugh, and quite frankly, he loved it.

-Back To Now-

Slowly their laughter subsided, Link still erupting with soft giggles as he tried to calm down. Sidon did nothing more than gaze at his flushed face, the gleam in his sapphire blue eyes. He was hopelessly in love with this hylian, that he was sure of. As Link continued to try and calm his laughter, Sidon continued to smile and gaze at him, the little outburst from Link being a moment he hopes he never forgets.
