Alexandra
The end of the school day finally came, and when Alexandra had dropped Miles off at his bus, she headed back towards the school to meet up with Peter and Ned, whom she always walked to the subway station with.
Living next door to Peter was usually pretty convenient, and tonight wouldn't be any different, since she had promised to help him with his half of their Spanish project that was due in two days. Alexandra knew that Peter's plate had been pretty full for the past few weeks, with him being Spider-Man and also trying to avoid Tony Stark, but she was concerned that all of his superhero-ing was getting in the way of his school work and other things—
They hadn't been on an actual date in two weeks.
Which usually wouldn't be something that bothered her, but it was getting a little bit hard to not be irritated that they hadn't hung out alone outside of school and Spider-Man related activities for two weeks.
When she met up with Peter and Ned outside of the school, the trio headed towards the subway station, with Ned and Peter having one of their usual Star Wars theory conversations. Today's topic was the same one it had been since Episode XIII had come out, who were Rey's real parents?
"Dude, there's no way her parents were just a couple of dead beats who sold her off for drinking money!" Ned exclaimed. "Why would they go through all of that trouble to set up her story only to tell us her parents were nobodies?"
"Because it enhances her character!" Peter replied. "The fact that her parents weren't anybody important symbolizes the fact that not everybody in the Star Wars universe has to be related to a Skywalker or a Solo to be important to the plot! I mean, look at Poe, he's not related to anybody and he still kicks ass."
Ned sighed. "True, but you could argue that he's basically a Skywalker because he sees Leia as a parental figure so..."
"Okay, fair enough—but—"
"I'm just saying Rey is totally a Kenobi and you can't convince me otherwise." Ned shrugged as they stepped onto the train.
Alexandra sighed and pulled out her cell phone, checking her messages. Her Papa was the most recent—ever since she had been kidnapped by Doc Ock and nearly drowned, he had been checking up on her every chance he could. Alexandra had to text him when she got to school, when she left school, and whenever she went out.
Papa: On your way home?
2:48 PMyeah, on the train now. be home in 5 min or so.
2:49 PMPapa: OK. See you soon. <3
2:49 PMAlexandra put her phone away and turned back to Peter and Ned, who were still arguing over Rey's parentage. "Guys, not that this conversation isn't interesting, but you've been having it for three weeks now," She said. "Give it a rest."
The two boys sighed and shut their mouths.
"Besides, everyone knows Rey is a Solo."
Ned's jaw dropped. "Okay, you didn't even see the movie—"
"I did so! Peter made me go with him after you two saw it opening night!" Alexandra replied.
"Then you must realize it doesn't make any sense for her to be a Solo."
"Right, because the Rey Kenobi theory is soooo much more logical."
Peter just grinned at the pair of them.
They reached Ned's stop, waved goodbye to their friend, and watched as the train pulled away. Peter watched Ned for as long as he could, Alexandra assumed to make sure he got off the platform safely, before returning his attention to her.
