Quick author's note: I'm dedicating this chapter to PercyJacksonLover80 because they made so many kind comments on the first story, Hanging by a Thread. The comments genuinely made my day so here's a new chapter early and dedicated to PercyJacksonLover80 !

Peter

"Peter, your vital signs show an increased amount of stress. Your heart rate has accelerated greatly and I'm afraid if you don't slow down you might lose your footing," Karen said as Peter webbed himself across the skyline at perhaps the fasted he had ever gone.

"I can't!" He replied. "Alex is in trouble. I need to get to her before something happens!" He swung across the city as his suit's GPS led him to Alexandra's cell phone. According to the GPS, she was in some dingy old apartment complex on the other side of Queens. It was definitely not apart of her route home.

Karen sighed (could AIs even sigh?). "I understand that you're worried about her, Peter, but it won't do her any good if you fall. Please, try to calm down."

Peter stopped on top of a random building's roof and took a deep breath. Karen was right. He wouldn't be able to save Alexandra if he was too stressed to even think straight. He needed to calm down.

He opened his eyes. "Okay. Let's go." He said. Peter swung off the building and started following the GPS again. "Actually, Karen, real quick, do me a favor and call Mr. Stark."

"I'm on it."

He heard the phone begin to ring and it only took two rings for Mr. Stark to pick up. Well, there was one good thing about Peter having been mad with Mr. Stark before. Now his mentor picked up immediately whenever he called. Peter was glad about it.

"Hey, kid, what's goin' on?" He asked. Peter could tell he was in the lab. He sounded like he was working on something, but he wasn't distracted. He was probably working on slight modifications to the latest Iron Man suits if Peter had to guess. Which was awesome. Peter hoped he could help with them at some point.

"Mr. Stark! Kind of a long story, but Alex was walking home from her self defense class that her dads are making her take and she told me a car was following her and now she won't answer my calls. Whoever was following her grabbed her and I'm headed to where her phone is now!" Peter exclaimed and then thought about it for a moment. "Okay—so it wasn't that long of a story but you get the idea—"

He could hear Tony beginning to move around the lab, likely pulling up Peter's current location on the holoscreen as they spoke. "Still in Queens. Well, that's good. If you can still track her phone, then whoever took her either is a dumbass, or they're expecting someone to go after her."

Peter sighed. He was right. This could be a trap. But why would anyone take Alexandra? Who were they setting up a trap for? No one knew Peter's secret identity—but then again—a lot of people had seen both Alexandra and Ned with Spider-Man several times—whoever took her probably knew she was friends with Spidey.

Which meant this could be a trap for him.

"What should I do?" Peter asked. "I can't just wait around and hope they don't get impatient—"

"No, I don't expect you to." Peter could imagine Tony shaking his head. "How about this, you go in, I stay in your ear and if anything big happens, I'll swing by myself and get you and your Cinnamon Roll Princess out of there."

Peter mentally gagged. "Cinnamon Roll Princess? Are you kidding me, Mr. Stark?"

"Hey, you know what I meant, kid. I'm a Star Battle super fan."
