kaycee:

it was the end of the day on monday, and sean and i were heading to my house to get our homework done. we would have gone to the cafe but it's closed on mondays, which is the day we need it the most. i shivered, the cold air tickling my skin.

"cold?" sean asked.

"little bit." i said, sarcasm rolling off of my tounge. sean stopped and took off his bag. i stopped too and faced him as he took off his sweatshirt, revealing a black shirt underneath. he handed me the hoodie and i shook my head.

"why not? aren't you cold?" he said.

"well yea i'm cold, but then you're going to be cold and that's not fair." i said. sean rolled his eyes and tore off my bag and put the sweatshirt on. i reached my arms through and shot him a glare. he winked at me and i swear to god that boy drove me insane. i grabbed my bag off of the ground and looked down to see the sweatshirt at least 2 sizes to big on me. i smiled, the sweatshirt smelled like sean.

when we got to my house we tried to do homework, but everything sean and i did turned into a giant fit of laughter. i giggled as sean tied the hood tight on his hoodie, so i couldn't see anything.

"excuse me!" i shouted, i heard sean laugh harder as i put my hands on my hips. i tried to untie the hoodie, but a knot formed and i groaned.

"seaaaaaan!" i shouted. he laughed and soon enough he was helping me . when i finally broke free, seans face was near mine. i smiled softly, still slightly laughing.

"you're so cute." he said. i rolled my eyes as i began to blush.

"no please don't look away from me! you're genuinely very pretty." i looked up at him, my eyes wide.

"hey kaycee." my dad said as he sat next to me. i slightly scooted away from him, trying to hold the tissue up to my bloody nose.

"how are you feeling." i stayed silent, i don't want to talk to him.

"kaycee! we talked about this!" my dad wined. i felt the tears brim my eyes as i looked away.

"kaycee! stop ignoring me!" he shouted. i continued to ignore him as i tried to keep back my tears.

don't let him see you cry.

"kaycee!" he shouted, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards him. when i looked at him, fury danced in his green eyes.

"are you going to continue to ignore me?" he said, grinding his teeth. i stayed silent, trying my best to be tough.

"answer me!" he shouted. he slapped my cheek and i fell back onto my bed, holding my stinging cheek.

"oh my god kaycee! i'm so sorry! i didn't mean to i sw-"

"like you didn't mean to punch me in the face either!" i shouted back. he stayed silent as i sat up and began walking out of my room.

"no! please don't look away from me! kaycee!" i continued walking out of my room and ran down the stairs and into the basement. i locked the door behind me and slid down it, crying.

"kaycee!"

"kaycee!"

"KAYCEE!"

i snapped back into reality, and looked around. sean was sitting in front me, his hands around my face. i took his hands off of my face and ran to the bathroom. when i looked in the mirror, my nose wasn't bleeding and my cheek wasn't red either. i stared at myself in the mirror. i was a mess, no wonder he hated me. i began hyperventilating and i crouched onto the ground. i heard footsteps come near me and he crouched down across from me. i looked up at his face and all i could do was sit there. he wrapped his arms around me, like he did days before and i felt safe. i looked up at the light as sean played with my hair and rubbed my back. after a minute or two, i finally stopped and all that came out were silent tears.

"are you okay?" sean asked.

no

"yes"
