sean and i walked home in silence, the only sound you could hear was the leaves crunching and the soft sniffling from our noses due to the cold air. i looked up from the ground and up at sean. his black eye already started to turn a slight yellow even though the purple pretty much over ruled it, his arms were covered in bruises, and his nose was a slight pink. i sighed, sean lew what are you doing to me? i stopped and let out a breath, letting the hot air form a tiny cloud. i furrowed my brows and an idea popped into my head.
"hey, are you parents home?" i asked as i grabbed seans wrist to stop him.
"no, my dad won't be home until 9." he said, looking down at my hand holding his. i quickly let go and shoved my hand into my pocket, blush creeping up on my cheeks.
"well...why don't we go on a little adventure? i promise you it's not far at all, about 10 minutes or so away. you wanna go?" i asked. sean sighed and nodded his head. i jumped up and down like a giddy little kid and motioned him to follow me.
we stopped in front of an old park with no one in sight by it. i dropped my bag onto the ground and ran towards the swings. i jumped onto one and looked back up at sean, a cute grin was plastered on his face as he walked over to the swing set. i waited for sean to sit down before i began swinging up and down.
i was up high when i looked down at sean, who was just sitting there looking up at me.
"what!" i shouted.
sean:
"oh nothing." i shouted up back at her. she giggled as she began to stop swinging and slowing down. she was so adorable, everything she did was. i couldn't help but stare at her just enjoying something so simple as swinging back and forth. that laugh, her smile, her rosy cheeks, everything.
she finally landed on the ground again and walked towards me. she stood in front of me, smiling down at me.
"hows your head?" she asked. i laughed slightly and looked away from her for a second.
"never been better." i said. she rolled her eyes and grabbed my wrist like she did less than an hour ago. i felt that electric shock run through my body. i awkwardly stood up and followed her up the playground. she let go of my wrist and climbed up on top of a slide. i pulled myself up too, and sat next to her. she looked out at the sunset, but i was looking at her. i know it's cliche or whatever, but she was way prettier than the sunset. and a sunset was something that couldn't last forever.
then it hit me. how the hell did she know this exsisted? she's been here for a week and she knew this place as if the map for it was on her left hand.
"how did you know this was here?" i asked. she smiled and ran a hand through her hair, still looking at the mountains.
"when we were first driving here to look for houses, we stopped at this playground. it was hot out and my hair was sticking to my neck, but it didn't matter. my mom and i played on the swings and we sat up here at this very spot. a 14 year old and a 30 something woman, sitting up here. every other time we visited here, we came to this spot. so now that we live here, it's like our central perk or the max. it's important to us, in the weirdest way ever." she said.
"well, if you and your mom have a special spot, then we need ours." i said. she looked over at me and smiled.
"we better get to it then lew."
