Corinna'sPOVMad World by Riverdale Cast

I was dreaming about my brother again.

Corvin had been dead for two years. I always dreamed about him more around this time of year. The dream is usually the same and this time is no exception.

Corvin and I are playing in our tree house. We can't be more than nine or ten and we're playing some stupid game or other that we had made up. Then suddenly we were older, adults. And Corvin was falling from the tree which really is only a few feet from the ground, but not in the dream.

In my dream the tree is as high as a skyscraper and no matter what I do I can't seem to reach him. He just keeps falling and I know he's going to die. That's how the dreams always end.

Luckily, something startled me awake before he could hit the ground. Corvin's name almost escaped my lips but my hand quickly clapped over my mouth cutting off the strangled scream before it could escape. Not that there was anyone around to hear me.

The sheets, my clothes and hair were all drenched in fear sweat. I rolled my eyes as I pushed the covers away and proceeded to strip the bed. Then I went and threw the linen in the washer.

Instead of hopping in the shower I threw on my pink and purple running short set so I could run off some of the stress and anxiety I'd woken up with. I stretched in my driveway before taking off down the street that was more of a lane.

There were only 5 houses on this particular street.

The first house was at the dead end of the street about 2 miles further into the woods. Then there was my cabin and another one nestled close together. About another mile down toward the main road there were two more cabins grouped together.

Ashton Way was lined by trees that provided excellent shade from the harsh summer sun.

I passed Nolan's cabin and ran until the woods gave way to a gas station and a few shops. I kept running until I reached real civilization, the actual town of Wolf Lake which was five miles from my cabin.

The actual town was small, probably only 10 miles in either direction from the town square. The square also severed as the center of downtown. Around said square you could find the only post office, the courthouse, the city jail/sheriff's station, the fire house and two churches.

It always made me feel like I had been transported back in time when I was there. It was hard to believe that New York City was only 2 hours away when I looked around.

The town was green, almost as green as my hometown. Except here it was freakishly clean and there were flowers and painted park benches on every corner. People appeared friendly for the most part, but my new friends had already hipped me to the gossiping ways of the sleepy little town.

All in all, it wasn't a bad place to live, just small with a population of around 900 or so.

My stopping point was my friends Natasha Archen and Aaron Jones' house not too far from downtown. Tasha and AJ had been together since high school but have never married. I had yet to find out why since they already had 3 kids and had been living together forever. They were a cute couple, a cute family.

AJ was in front yard playing with their 12-year-old son Junior when I approached their walkway. AJ was a big man, taller than Elliot, standing around 6'3" at his full height. He had smooth dark skin, a bald head, and a graying goatee. Today his wide shoulders and stocky frame were clothes in a tank top and cargo shorts as he tossed a football with his son who shared his skin tone and dark brown eyes.
