Elliot's POV

Venom by Eminem

I didn't waste any time going after Mr. Red upon returning from New Orleans. I stopped home to check on George and Inna. Then headed to New York to begin preparations.

It took about 10 minutes to find out where he was staying and about 5 minutes to find an abandoned building close enough to use as my workspace. I set up everything I would need to finish the job. Then I paid a few kids and a few homeless to keep an eye on my spot and to let me know when Mr. Red moves around.

Tracking him was surprisingly easily. It made me question how he had survived in this game as long as he had.

After two days it became clear that Mr. Red was as out of the life as one can get without dying. He'd let himself go soft. Made me wonder what he was thinking touching Inna, threatening us.

I slipped into the club he was in easy enough. I watched him for a while waiting until he'd done enough blow and had too many drinks before I eased over to the V. I. P. section he'd rented. The girls around him smiled and made room for me.

"Hey Jayme," I said casually, taking a sip of the same drink that I had been nursing all night.

"Hey Nolan. Good to see there's no hard feelings," he said, pointing to a few cuts and bruises that had yet to heal. "Where's that hot piece of ass you were with last time," he asked, and I had to fight to control my temper.

I couldn't and wouldn't blow this when patience would allow me to etch my rage into Jayme's hide soon enough. Plus, if I did, I'm pretty sure Jac would make sure someone would be coming after me next and I couldn't endanger Inna like that.

"We're not together anymore," I lied quickly. "Got bored with the whole good girl thing."

Jayme and some of the girls wound him laughed. I smiled, making myself comfortable. One of the girls slipped her hand in my lap and I had to force myself not to push her away or grimace.

I really don't want her touching me, I thought to myself as the brunette smiled suggestively.

"Well good for you man. Now we can have some fun like the old days," Jayme said and motioned for the waitress to come over. "Another bottle of Remy and Dom P for me and my friends."

"Right away, sir," the girl said only pausing long enough to look me up and down appreciatively.

I pretended to watch her as she went even though I knew Jayme couldn't track my line of sight behind my dark ray bans.

"So, what brings you to the city," Jayme asked.

"Just enjoying the city. I'm relocating and I know I'll miss the NY nightlife," I said without a hint of emotion in my voice.

"Ah, why'reyouleaving. I thought youlikedit here," he asked, words slurring together.

He was already drunk, maybe I wouldn't have to drug him after all.

"You know how risky it gets staying in one place for too long in this business," I glanced at him as the bottle service girl dropped the two bottles off and sashayed away, throwing a lusty glance at him and then me. "Time for a fresh start," I said. "New business ventures."
