Chapter Six ~ The Weekend (Part 2)

After 10 minutes of awkward silences, with the odd laugh at the comical jokes from FRIENDS, Charlie looked up at me and smiled, then he looked at Leo, with his arms wrapped around me tight and his smile widened. I gave him a puzzling look before he returned his attention back to the TV. I sat up a bit and rubbed my eyes, letting go of Leo's grasp. He had despair in his eyes: "you okay princess?" He asked me, I just smiled and nodded. He leaned in a gave me a quick peck on the cheek before getting up. He looked at Charlie, whispered something and left the room. My eyes followed him out, after he left the room I glanced at Charlie, but Charlie just sat there smiling.

"Okay what's going on?" I quizzed, glaring at Charlie.

"What, huh?" Charlie asked, a puzzled look struck across his face.

"Why did Leo whisper to you and then leave the room?" I asked getting up and walking towards him, he sat slumped in the arm chair.

"Leo wants to know whether you really do like him or not or whether you're just using him?" Charlie asked, he looked serious now.

"Why would Leo think that? He knows I like him. Like more than anyone in this entire world." I replied, had I really been that bad of a girlfriend that Leo didn't even know if I liked him.

I trailed back over to the sofa and slumped down, Charlie followed me and put his arm around me.

"He really does like you" he said half smiling.

"I know he does" I said smiling and blushing. "Thank you Charlie" I grinned.

"That's okay gorgeous, you're like one of my best friends" he said hugging me tighter.

For a moment all my worries left me. I had everything I ever wanted and more. This was it. It was perfect.

After sitting there for a while hugging Charlie, My attention returned to Leo who hadn't come back.

I struggled away from Charlie and stood up.

"Where's Leo then?" I said concern arising in my voice.

"Calm down love, he just went to call his mum" he said laughing, returning to his spot in the armchair.

"I'll be back in a moment Charlie, do you want anything to eat? Help yourself to anything in the kitchen" I said hurriedly before rushing out into the kitchen.

I could see Leo standing at the end of the garden with the phone pressed to his ear. I carefully opened the door and slipped into the garden, where I sat on the still damp bench and waited for Leo. Five minutes later, Leo finished with the call, he spun around and noticed me sitting on the bench, his eyes widened and his mouth formed into a huge smile.

"Hey" he said, his eyes melting with mine.

"Hey" I said failing to wink at him. He just laughed and walked towards me. I did the same and walked towards him.

"Leondre Devries, I love you." I said leaning in to give him a hug.

"Bethany Adams, I love you to" he said hugging me tighter.

Both of us just stood there in the rain not giving a care in the world. He released from the hug and kissed me, from that moment I knew he was mine forever and always.

After two minutes, we both turned around, the rain still pouring. Leo grabbed my hand and we both ran back to the house laughing our heads off.

We found Charlie sitting on the kitchen floor hugging a jar of Nutella. He looked up, winked and kissed the lid of the jar. He peered up at me and asked: "Can I keep this?" I just laughed and nodded. He jumped up and embraced me and Leo in the biggest hug. I laughed into his jacket, nearly suffocating myself. When Charlie finally let go we walked back into the living room where Leo grabbed our oversized blanket and wrapped it around us before switching on Netflix. Charlie did the same but instead he smothered the Nutella jar. His new love. I just giggled at him. Once Leo chose a film. We cuddled down and eventually I fell asleep cuddling Leo.
