Life has changed since we brought baby Dani home from the hospital on August the 23rd 2014. Sam's now started school, Lilly's going into year 6 and Mum's got herself a little job. I, on the other hand, I'm back to school. I've just joined my new school, Riverview Academy. It sounds nicer than it is.
I've been here for about 3 months but it's all still new to me. I've made about three friends, they're not really friends but they're people to hang out with.
I was getting along fine at school, everyone was pretty friendly. No one realised I was Leondre's girlfriend until the middle of January.
It was a cold morning on Thursday the 16th of January. I had to wake up at 7 o'clock to get ready for school, I was showered and dressed, and had my breakfast and by 8 o'clock I was ready to leave. I had to drop Sam and Lilly to school on the way there, lucky enough their school was only five minutes away from my school so it wasn't that bad.
I arrived at school at 8:30am, just in time for registration. It was raining outside, so I knew it would be a bad day. I managed to get through three lessons that day in peace, my head down just ignoring the teacher, I often doodled in lessons. Just writing lyrics to songs, mostly Hopeful and Shining Star.
The weather started to pick up by fourth period. Unfortunately, my lesson was dull, I had to suffer through a whole chemistry lesson. I spent most of the lesson staring out of the window to the school across the river, who were at that current moment, at lunch. They were all laughing and joking around.
Just at that point the teacher, Mr Lewis, decided everyone should go for an early lunch. This cheered me up loads. I packed up my books, grabbed my blazer and exited the class, finding my mates and making our way to the benches outside to have lunch. Once we reached the benches and sat down. I pulled my phone out from my bag and opened my texts. I hadn't spoken to Leo in two months, he hadn't text me or rang me or even replied to my messages, I assumed the worst, assumed he didn't want to talk to me.
"Leo again?" My friend Lisa frowned as she sat down next to me and saw me check my phone.
"Yeah" I shrugged, trying to brush the situation off.
"What's his surname again?" Hannah questioned, shoving her face with her Cheese sandwich.
"Birch" I blushed.
I didn't want them to know that THE Leondre Devries was my boyfriend because then Leo would know I was here because news travels fast, especially with teenage girls.
"That's a weird surname" my friend Sinead shrugged, she was too busy to join in the conversation anymore. She spent most of her time checking herself in the mirror. She was very vain. She was a pretty girl though, she just wore to much make up. It covered every inch of her face. Everyone called her fake. She didn't fake her personality, just her appearance.
"You shouldn't wear that much make up Sinead" I interjected.
"I need to wear this much Beth" she snapped, applying yet more foundation. She was very self conscious, she cared a lot about what people think.
We just sat, watching her for a while, watching her cake yet more of her face in make up.
"So where does he live again?" Lisa asked, averting our attention away from Sinead.
"He doesn't live anywhere, he travels a lot" I replied. Staring at my hands. The more I thought about him, the more I missed him.
"Ooh" Hannah and Lisa said in unison, winking at me.
Hannah and Lisa were like twins. They both loved to eat but they both hated gaining weight. Hannah was more of the sporty girl and Lisa more of the girly girl. They spent practically their whole life together, you didn't see Lisa without Hannah. That's what I loved about them. They stuck with each other through thick and thin.
"Yeah" I just blushed. I pulled my legs up to my chest, grabbed my ear phones out of my bag and plugged them into my phone. I scrolled through my music, selected Shining Star and pressed play. I carefully put my earphones in my ears and drowned the noise of the playground out. I sat back and watched everyone laugh, run around and play football.
I sat watching for 10 minutes, the low sound of the girls chatting next to me drowning out my music, when I saw a huge crowd of people run towards the gate. I took my head phones out of my ears and watched in confusion.
"Is it the ice cream man or something?" I asked the girls.
They laughed at my comment.
"I really have no idea what's going on?" Sinead replied in confusion.
All of a sudden, a massive group of year seven's came running towards us. I shuffled back on the bench to avoid being attacked by the mob of girls.
"Are you Bethany-Mae Adams?" They chorused in their high pitch voices.
I looked to the girls in confusion.
"Um, yeah I am" I replied, looking back at the year seven's.
They grabbed my hands and pulled me away with them towards the group of people. The girls following quickly. I looked back at them, a scared expression on my face. They just shrugged at me.
"Where are you taking me?" I yelled. The screaming of the crowd getting louder as we got closer.
The year sevens pushed their way through the crowds to the gate.
There on the other side of the gate, smiling from ear to ear. I saw Leo.
"Hey princess" he smiled.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, bursting into tears. I was speechless, my hands were shaking, my legs felt like jelly.
Everyone was smiling and cheering. A few year seven's and eights in tears.
"What are you doing here?" I managed to mumble through tears.
"I found you" he whispered, a smirk spread across his face.
He also found my smile.
