So here we have it, the "end" of my story. Except it's not the end.

The night of the Unexpected Visitor is a blur to me now. I remember grabbing my stuff and mum driving like a lunatic away from the house, she drove for hours and hours. Further and further away from Manchester. We arrived hours later, parked in a tesco car park.

I opened my eyes slowly and glanced around the area, it was unfamiliar to me. Mum lay sprawled in the chair next to me. I manoeuvred myself in the chair so I was facing forwards, I pulled my legs up to my chest and rubbed my eyes, yawning.

"Mum" I whispered to her, shaking her lightly.

"Yes" Mum replied disorientated, glaring around the car till her eyes fell upon me.

"Where are we?" I asked her, my eyes slowly closing again.

"Somewhere in Scotland" she whined, squirming around in her seat.

My eyes opened wide, "Scotland!" I yelled.

"Sh!" Mum whispered, spinning around in her seat to check on the children, who were still fast asleep.

"Yes, we are, um, moving to...Scotland" she winced at me.

"I'm not moving to Scotland!" I protested, folding my arms and staring blankly out the window.

"Yes you are young lady" she demanded, imitating my action which came as a source of great annoyance to me.

"I'm not moving school, what about my life in Manchester, our family, friends!" I argued back.

"We'll go back, I promise. We just can't live there now. It's too dangerous for Sam, Lilly and the baby" she said softly, rubbing her baby bump.

I felt sorry for her, I really did. She was going through so much right now and she was so stressed. I hope it didn't affect the baby.

"You promise?" I whispered, tears brimming in my eyes.

"I promise" she whispered, pulling me into a warm hug.

We hugged for 30 seconds before she undid her belt and grabbed her purse to run into Tesco quickly to grab breakfast. I sat waiting in the car with the Kids.

She came back 5 minutes later with a pack of croissants and a bottle of orange juice, a perfect breakfast. So whilst I scoffed my face with croissants Mum drove back onto the motorway and on her way to Arbroath, Scotland.

We pulled up in front of a nice neat cottage, with little picket fences and flower beds surrounding the house.

"Well, here we are" Mum said as she pressed softly on the brake coming to a complete stop in front of the house.

"Yep" I sighed.

"So, are you ready?" She smiled weakly.

"I was born ready" I forced a fake smile onto my face.

Mum giggled before opening her door and walking around the car to collect the bags from the boot.

"Get the kids please?" She called from the boot.

"Sure" I replied, opening the doors and waking up Sam and Lilly.

They woke up cheerily and agreed to come and search around the house.

It was a small place but it was perfect for our situation, just us three and the baby. We unpacked our current stuff into the three bedrooms and started to unpack the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room things Mum had had delivered previously.

I walked into the living room to find her stretching over the drawers to find the switch to plug in the TV. She was moaning in pain.

"Mum, you know you shouldn't do that" I moaned, rushing to rescue her from injuring herself.
