It's now May 2018, meaning five months have gone by. Riverdale season two aired and June had a blast finding out she'd be playing Emma's characters love interest. Even their friends who don't watch teen drama TV shows would watch it for them.

Emma and June had personally apologized to Bella, to which she apologized too, insisting it was all her fault since she instigated everything. They agreed to part for good on mutual terms and not attempt to be friends just for the sake of their mental health. When Emma and June had left Bella's house that day, they felt better than ever. A huge weight was lifted off their shoulders.

June signed with a new management company that allowed her to work more freely, which she loved. She went on a couple dates that wasn't set up for her, and even though she didn't like those people, she liked having the opportunity to date whoever she wanted.

There was only one person she wanted to date. Everyone knew it even though she never said it out loud. Zac and June were still extremely good friends, but you could tell they both wanted to be more. June was just scared she'd screw it up again, and Zac was scared he wasn't good enough for her. 

They decided enough was enough.

Zac had texted June asking if they could meet up, and she suggested her house. She cleaned eagerly, practising over and over again what she would say to him. She made a cup of coffee, and the place smelled amazing by the time Zac showed up.

When he did, June opened the door a little too fast. Her heart was beating a million miles per hour. He had a bouquet of mixed flowers with him. "Come on in."

They sat down on the couch and just got to talking. The last time he had been at her house was New Years. Everyone had gone to crash at her place after the party, June remembers that night clearly. She'd gotten up in the middle of the night to pee to see Emma and Tom snuggling on the couch, Zac took the recliner to let Jianna get the spare bed, and Daya was sharing with June. A smile crept up on her face every time she thought about that night, even if it had gotten off to a bad start.

Zac had ultimately woken up from hearing June tiptoe around, and the two had sparked a conversation. What June hasn't told anyone, not even Daya, is that Zac kissed her forehead after June had asked him to wait for her before he fell back asleep. "I will," he had mumbled, drifting off to sleep like June had never woken him in the first place.

"I know what you're thinking," June said in real time.

"Oh?" Zac sipped his coffee.

"I know you've seen the pictures of me online, out and about with random guys and such."

Zac hummed. "Oh yeah, those. It's not a big deal."

"It is to me. I asked you something and I feel like such a slut for going and--"

"Hey, hey." he put his hand on top of hers. "You're not a slut. You had the right."

"I only want one person," she whispered, looking down at his lips. "None of them are you."

This was it. Both of them knew that. Zac set down his cup on the coffee table next to June's cup. He leaned his body in. June ran her hand along his neck, her thumb stroking his jawline. She found both of her hands grabbing his face, studying everything about him from his sharp eyes to the way she felt when he put his hands on her waist.

He was doing the same, watching the girl he'd eyed for over a year who was finally ready, finally telling him what she wanted, finally letting him know she was absolutely one hundred percent his and only his. She was like magic, something never thought he could actually hold in his own two hands. "I'm so in love with you, June Martin." he let out. June smiled, swinging her leg over him and bringing her lips onto his. When she pulled away, he had the biggest look of shock on his face.

"Its cute to see you all worked up over me." June giggled, then remained quiet as she let him regain his posture and clear his throat. "I'm in love with you too, Zac."

He smiled. "Let's give it a shot."
