Olivia sat on the bed sports bra and shorts. Only her black socks keeping her toes from the cold floor surface. Olivia looked down at her rib cage seeing her multiple tattoos one of which being Seans birthday and initials over a mocking jay. His favourite bird. Another ran along her spine, an arrow, beautiful in colour and design. She still had more tattoos planed for the future.
Nora stood with her parents and Felicity in a separate room behind glass where they could see in.
"Are you and Lauren close in the future?" Felicity asked arms crossed and hoping that her friends would share their lives for the years to come.
"If we're from the same time lines sure. We were. Till she lost Sean. She really put her guard up."
"What do you mean?" Iris asked.
"They we're madly in love. He even gave her a promise ring. He was sweet, smart, kind. You and Oliver loved him too. But after the muggers killed him, and after...she killed one them-"
"She killed someone?"
"She defended herself sort of. But in all honesty she didn't know she did it till after. It was like she blacked out. She put all her time into finding that other guy when I left she still was. She's strong. She's tough." Nora looked to the girl who was like her sister. "But Sean was her Oliver. Loosing him was like loosing a lung. And she'd already lost her brother. The girl was suffocating." Felicity looked to the girl and felt her heart warm but ache as she watched her talk to Caitlin.
She wanted to wrap her arms around her. Hold her close tell her it would be okay. Felicity felt like she was holding back. But she understood why. Oliver made a promise years ago to not take a life. He killed someone after making that promise and he did it to save Felicity from The Count. She'd be dead if he hadn't but it was a life.
Olivia had taken a life. After they killed a boy she loved. Olivia had spent enough time around Oliver and the gang along with her powers, revenge was the only thing she could see. Killing wasn't a thought until it happened. Protecting others was always her goal. Heartbreak clouded her. After Sean died, more than a few instincts kicked in. Something she didn't know she had.
Caitlin asked her questions and wrote down answers. Drew blood took scans. It took several hours making Olivia antsy. But once done they all joined in the cortex.
"So what's up with my powers?"
"We'll first, it looks like your powers have no real Centre. Barry's powers go down to the cells so that's where his come from." Caitlin moved the screen to a scan of her brain. A little section was lighting up in bright colours. "Now the part of your brain that controls your emotions that different, it looks like that's the centre of your powers."
"Like she blocked herself from using her powers after the fight with Gillard?" Felicity asked.
"That's what I'm guessing."
"Kind of ironic, she blocks herself off from the people around her and she can make an impenetrable force field." Nora said with arms crossed.
"How do I fix it?" Olivia asked crossing her arms and hoping for a quick fix for her powers.
"Therapist?" Caitlin wasn't being funny but biology was her thing. Caitlin understood what it was like. She might have had more control over KillerFrost.
"I don't have time for that." Olivia grabbed her jacket from the bed. "I have to find my brother and get back to my own time before there's no me or my brother." Olivia walked out but didn't stop even after leaving the lab. Once out of the building, she found herself running. Running to a coffee shop that still stood in it place so many years later.
Jitters.
While coffee wasn't a good idea, hot chocolate was. "Sorry we're out of marshmallows, but we'll have them by tomorrow." Olivia didn't bother saying anything for a second as she looked at the steaming cup of hot chocolate.
"It's okay," Olivia walked over to a table and hopped onto a chair. She just looked at the cup and blew the steam away. Till a familiar face joined her at the table.
"Joe.."Olivia sat up.
"Good, I got the right girl." He crossed his arms and looked at the girl in front of him.
"They told you to find me?"
"Iris called, still trying to get used to seeing my future adult granddaughter. But Iris thought I could talk to you."
"You do give amazing pump up speeches." Joe sat there with her waiting to figure it out. Joe was still freaked by a lot of what metas can do. But he was no closer to getting used to it like Barry and Iris.
But as Joe looked at the girl in front him he saw something familiar. " I mean I do know you in the future so...I know." Taking a quick glance at the roots of her hair he saw the natural colour. Her little babble made the corner of his mouth rise. But she held herself stern like the man in front of her.
"What's your name?"
"Lauren..."
"Really?" Joe West has been a detective for many years. Knowing when people lie has been useful more than once, especially in the future when he watched the kids. "How about that real name."
Olivia pinched her lips and looked down at the table. Her emotions got the best of her, people found out the truth. So far only three now. Dig caught her in the moment of mistake, almost saying her own name first. Nora knows her from the future. And now Joe, a man she honestly looks up to. One that made her believe she could fight crime like the generation before her.
"Olivia Laurel Moria Queen."
"Oliver Queens daughter." He said leaning back."Why not tell them the truth?"
"I have my reasons. Oliver and Felicity are special cases. It's different for Nora. One wrong move, me and my brother don't exists."
Joe sat there and just talked to her. He's normal. He doesn't have powers. He knows he doesn't have the same struggles as those who do. But he has had his own struggles. He took Olivia back to the lab where Olivia went back to working with Caitlin."Time in the future technically doesn't move. You have some time."
"Not really. I've got less than a month before I vanish from existence. I've already intervened too much going after Gillard. I need my powers to stop my brother and man controlling him. Future them will find me eventually and will kill me."
