19. I learn something... Kinda...

Today is a daddy day so I'm downstairs with him. I was helping but then he started injecting repeaters for his suit into his body and I went over to my own little spot, just to mess with some scraps.

"Ouch"

I hear dad mumbling everyday often, and Jarvis is counting along with every time he injects another micro repeater in his arm.

"46"

"Dad maybe you should stop for now."

He lets out a sigh while wiping off some blood. He puts down the wipe and answers without even looking up.

"I know what I'm doing squirt, it's alright."

Just about a second later Jarvis tells him to wait a few hours to calibrate something. But dad just interrupts him with his "nope" that is followed by another "ouch".

"Micro repeater implanting sequence complete."

He said complete. So it's done. Right?

"Dad, are you done? Can I see it?"

I kind of figured out his plan with it. He's a little mad cause he wanted it to be a surprise. he said I'm being to smart.

"One more second Nova."

Jarvis tells dad he has a safety briefing to ignore. Which he will. And it doesn't even surprise me anymore. I would've looked at him funny a few months ago, but I'm used to this sort of stuff now. Maddie isn't though. She kept asking me about those things when she was here a few weeks ago. It's funny.

"Let's do this. Nova? You ready?"

I nod excitedly.

"Dum-E. Hi Dum-E. How did you get that cap on your head? You earned it." 

"That's what I thought. I made it!"

Dad looks over from me to Dum-E and makes this funny face. Then he continues talking to Dum-E. Which is also something you have to get used to.

"What are you doing out of the corner. You know what you did. Blood on my mat. Handle it."

I giggle slightly, patting Dum-E on his head thingy while following dad to see him working with the Ironman suit. Finally.

"Sir, may I remind you that you've been awake for nearly 72 hours."

"You've been awake for 72 hours? Dad!"

He ignores me. He goes to stand on his little platform in front of some of the old suits.

"Focus up ladies. Good evening and welcome to the birthing suite. I am pleased to announce the imminent arrival of your bouncing, bad-ass baby brother."

"Jarvis he said the a word!" I let out a small giggle while dad starts to give Dum-E camera directions.

"Sir, Miss Potts told me to remind you to watch your language around Nova"

He lets out a sigh while dropping his head back and looking at the ceiling. He mumbles something about Pepper and ignores Jarvis as he continues with the camera and suit and stuff.

"Mark 42, autonomous prehensile propulsion suit test. Nova? Are you writing this down? You can learn something here. Initialize sequence."

The little parts of the suit start to power up and zoom to life as little lights turn on in them.

"Jarvis, drop my needle."

The music turns on. It's Christmas music and he starts doing this ridiculous weird dance. I laugh at him.
