29. Heavy secrets

We wake up the next day, and it's nearing the afternoon already. We get up and find some leftover pancakes from this morning. We ate some and ran around the tower bit. We couldn't go into the lab because dad says there might be low levels of radiation. And there's nothing we can do there anyway. We do get to 'train' with Nat and Clint for a little. We see it more as playing around though. We throw stuff at other stuff. And it took some convincing, but Clint tried to teach us a little archery. Which was definitely great but also really hard.

At about four when Nat practically drags us away from the training area. We get changed and ready for the party. Pepper isn't here for the party, so Nat and Maria help Maddie and me do our hair. Maddie's is curled and I have small braids to the back of my head and the rest is down. And we get to have lipstick on! I have this really pretty jumpsuit on that Pepper bought for me.   Maddie has a pink dress I don't fit yet and Harley has some old shirt dad found. Dad says we look cute and then he wants to take pictures.

When we get to go in there's already some people there. There's a bit of music and drinks and snacks. We just walk around a bit with the three of us. We talk to some people, but most of them are old and boring anyways. Rhodey's here to. He keeps telling everyone some supposedly funny story. I don't get why it is so funny though. But everyone else does so.... Dad said to let him be popular.

It's nearing the end of the evening, and Harley, Maddie and I sit down with dad and the rest of the team, along with some other people. It's very funny.

After a while Harley and I turn to interrogating Thor about Asgard. I really think it's amazing. It's another world with people that have jobs and houses and families. I wouldn't believe it was real if it wasn't for Thor actually coming from there. He has so many great stories about it. I mean, it makes sense. He's over a thousand years old! And I thought dad was old. But next to Thor he's like a baby. Not only in age though because Thor's also so much bigger.

At some point the rest decide they can try to pick up Thor's hammer. Stupid. But well. I guess it'll be funny though.

They take turns trying to lift it up, but it doesn't move at all. Dad actually uses his Ironman gauntlet, and when that doesn't work he makes Rhodey help him. But that doesn't I any good. He tries to make me help. But I'm happy right here, watching him make a fool out of himself. Steve goes to try as well, and it actually seems to shift a little. I look over at Thor, who seems to be panicking slightly. But Steve doesn't make anything of it and sits back down.

They continue joking about it. Clint says something about someone's ass or something. I don't really follow it, but Maria tells Steve about it. "Steve he said a bad language word!" She says, making everything laugh while cap mumbles something I can't hear.

Dad has some sort of theory about the hammer. "The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code? Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprint is, I think, the literal translation?"

Thor gets up, saying: "yes. It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." He tells everyone, picking up the hammer and throwing it around before catching it and saying: "you're all not worthy."

I giggle a little while the rest start groaning and laughing until all of a sudden there's some high pitched noise. I immediately cover my ears while dad flings out his phone.

I hear some robotic sounds and mumbling coming from near the stairs. I look over at dad, who clearly doesn't know what's going on either.

"Jarvis what's this?" I mumble. He normally would respond right away. But now all I get is silence. "Jarvis?" I ask a little louder. Nothing.

"No. How could you be worthy?" The voice asks. I turn around to see some sort of robot standing there. It's all fallen apart, but I think it used to be part of the iron legion.
