"Come on!" I yell "you have to be strong!"

"Nova." Nat comes hurrying in. "What's happening?"

"Hey Nat!" I exclaim happily. I struggle to roll over the wheelchair while she comes walking towards me. I quickly give her a hug as she asks, "Nova what's happening?"

"I was trying to find dad." I answer, finally letting her go. "But this freaking WiFi signal has totally given up on me."

"You were yelling at the WiFi to be strong?"

I just nod and continue to fiddle with the third tablet I'm now trying after about five failed computers.

"I thought someone was dying" Nat states dryly.

"Well I am. From the inside. Because this is not working!" I exclaim. I let out a frustrated sigh and drop the tablet amongst some other electronic devices on the table.

"Can I borrow your phone?" I asks, turning to Nat with a hopeless expression.

"No." She deadpans. "We'll go do something else."

"Steve says you can't take me shooting."

She stops in her tracks on her way to my wheelchair. She seems deep in thought for a second before asking, "was it Clint?"

I nod and she lets out a little laugh. "Makes sense." She mumbles to herself while rolling this thing over to the kitchen.

"What are we doing Nat?" I asks exaggerated while dropping my head back so I can look at her.

"Well it's almost Christmas right? So in my experience, normal people bake cookies and stuff. You know how to do that?"

I definitely like the idea of baking cookies. But I don't know how so I just shake my head. "Last time I tried with Pepper didn't really work out."

"I guess we'll need Bruce then." She says.

About ten minutes later I'm sitting in the kitchen with the two Avengers who are currently trying to figure out how to make cookies. I have to say it's kind of amusing. Uncle Bruce didn't know how to do it either so now they're trying to look it up. Clint came by to get some food but he just laughed at them and left again. So he's not a lot of help.

It eventually took Steve's help as well, but we had a lot of fun. Everything is covered in flour, but the cookies are currently baking in the oven. It took about two hours, while the internet said it should be about half an hour. Max.

The day went by slowly like that. Tomorrow's Christmas so everyone was trying to think of things to do. Clint had to leave during the day but the rest helped decorate for Christmas in the main area. It took forever because it's gigantic, but we had a lot of fun. They had Jarvis play Christmas music and we ate way to many of the chocolates Steve bought when he went out to get a Christmas tree. It's just a pine tree actually, but we decorated it and now it's a Christmas tree.

We kept busy all day, and it was fun, but I think they were trying to keep my mind off things. Every time something was about dad or what was happening they quickly started talking about something else. And I was forbidden from the tv. So I think I know what they're doing. I'm eight, I'm not stupid.

So now it's dark outside and everything looks really pretty. There's lights everywhere, inside and outside. I can see the city from up in the tower. All the blinking lights and stuff are really cool. I hear footsteps coming up behind me. I look over my shoulder to see uncle Bruce coming over to where I'm sitting.

"Look how pretty it is..." I mumble against the glass.

"Yeah. It is pretty." Bruce responds. "We were going to watch a movie. Wanna come?"

I nod and try to ride over to the tv. I'm getting a bit better at it.

"D'you know anything about dad yet?"  I ask carefully. I look up at him and I see he's hesitating. "What?"

"Nothing yet kid, sorry"

"Oh, alright." I sigh. I arrive at the couches and Steve helps me out of the wheelchair and onto the couch.

"Uncle Bruce?" I ask. He looks over at me, signaling to continue talking. "When can this cast come off? It's bothering me."

He hufs a little and has to contain a laugh. "You have it since last night. It's not healed yet. You'll have to wait till at least the end of the week. Then I'll check again like I told you. Three times already."

I let out a sigh. I expected this answer actually. "But it doesn't hurt?"

"I know Nova. That's because you had an anesthetic before you woke up."

I let out another sigh before Steve starts telling me about the movie we're watching. It's quite a fun movie, but near the end I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open.

I wake up a little while later because of someone trying to pick me up. I'm still to tired to open my eyes, but when I suddenly leave the couch my eyes fly open and I start to sort of kick around.

"Nova. Hey. Shhh it's just me. Calm down." I hear dad's voice. I just freeze completely as I look up at him.

"Dad?" I ask tiredly. He just nods, a small smile on his lips. I quickly reach up to wrap my arms around his neck. He turns me a bit so I'm just hanging upright now.

"How are you? What happened? Dad is Pepper here? Is she okay? And you look hurt. Are you hurt?" I ramble while leaning back to look at his face.

"Calm down smalls, jees. We're fine now. It's okay. Pepper's asleep. You can see her tomorrow okay? She was a bit hurt but the doctor already fixed her up."

I slowly nod my head. "Is she still at the doctors?"

"Yeah she had to stay the night. But she'll be back in the morning and then.... it's going to be Christmas."

I smile and look around a bit. "Did you see how pretty we made it?"

Dad nods. "Yeah I did. You guys have been busy."

I nod happily. "Dad you have to look outside!" I exclaim suddenly, bouncing up and down in his arms.

"Outside?" He asks. Making me frantically nod again. He walks us over to the big window and looks outside.

"Do you see all the lights dad? Pretty right?"

"Yeah they are. Definitely pretty." He runs his hand through my messy hair and places a kiss on my forehead. "I missed you squirt." He says quietly.

"I missed you to dad. I was really scared but they kept my mind off it. And now it's Christmas!" I end happy, motioning around with my hands.

"What do think off a sleepover?" I ask dad.

"A sleepover?" He asks bewildered.

"Yeah. Now Pepper isn't home I can keep you company."

Dad smiles lightly before wrapping his arms a bit tighter around me so he can hug me. "Course you can. You're the best smalls."

I giggle a little and we're off to bed. Dad has to ask Steve something really quick while I'm waiting on the couch. I can't really hear what it's about, but I don't care either. I slumber down a little before dad comes back. I already have my pajamas on. I actually had them on all day already.

Dad easily picks me up and carries me to the bedroom. I almost drown in the softness of the blankets and pillows. Dad comes back too after a second and it doesn't take long before I'm asleep again.

Sorry about a shorter chapter guys. But I had to get this one out. I'll update again later this week and that's going to be the end of Ironman 3! This one went by so quick it's unbelievable. I'm very excited about age of Ultron! It's going to be a bit shorter probably and that'll be the end of this book! I'm already working on the next one and to say I'm excited for that would be an understatement. It's going to be cap civil war, but I have loads of plans for that! So I hope you'll stay tuned.
