I walked about halfway down the hallway before realizing that I had no idea where I was going. Then suddenly I felt someone grab my arm before I was pulled into a room.
I opened my mouth to scream but a soft hand slapped over it before I had the chance.
"Shhh!" I heard Luna's voice. "Be quiet Elsie!"
Her hand left my mouth and I stumbled away.
"What the hell Luna?" I whisper-shouted.
"I needed to talk to you alone. You were walking by so I just-"
I cut her off. "So you just dragged me by my arm into your room that, might I add, you share with Marcy?!"
She looked down. "Okay, so not my best idea." Looking up now, she appeared determined. "But you're here now aren't you?"
"I-" It was her turn to cut me off.
"Ya, you are so shut up."
I raised my eyebrow realizing I should hear her out since I'm here already.
"You need to tell us all tonight who you are, your story, and why you knew about the tunnels. It's like initiation for living here."
I paled. There is no way I am doing this. My palms start sweating.
"I really don't think that's a good idea. I wasn't planning on staying here...." She stops me again.
"You can't leave. You know about the tunnels, you can't leave now and risk us."
"But-"
"No. "
I frowned. Why won't she let me leave? I can't stay here!
"The meeting is tonight. I will see you there."
With that Luna left the dark room with a flick of her hair.
What now?!
-----
It was an hour later and Jax was getting ready to give me a tour. He had put it off because we had to eat breakfast first which was super awkward because Lyan kept giving me weird glares and I would catch Maven and Jax staring at me or giving each other a Death glare.
"Hurry up and get your shoes on!" I exclaimed impatiently. "I've been waiting forever."
Jax looked up from his bed and had the gull to smirk. "Then you won't mind waiting a few more seconds would you now?"
I took in a breath, about to give him a piece of my mind then stopped. He was already standing up and walking out of his room, grinning madly at his own lame joke.
"Hey wait up!" I jogged to catch up as he headed down the corridor.
His room was a the end of the hall so as we walked down he would point out the different rooms.
"This is Lyan and Maven's room, this is Luna and Marcella's room...."
-----
It was four o'clock. I think. My phone was dead and had no reception anyway and I hadn't found any clocks except the one in the main room. I had different concerns than the time though.
It was nearing the time where I had to tell everyone everything. I don't know if I would survive. I was paling just thinking about it.
I was sitting on the other bed in Jax's room, my bed I guess, for however long I was staying here. Maven walked in.
"I heard you have the initiation tonight." He whispered.
"Ya." That was all I could say.
"I remember mine. I was scared. It made me nervous but it wasn't actually that bad. Once I started talking it just kinda flowed outta me like water. It really wasn't bad at all."
I pondered this for a moment. If Maven says it's not that bad then it really isn't. Maven is such a softy that if it was that bad then he wouldn't be here.
"Ya, okay. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks Maven."
He just nodded then looked away, blushing.
I stood up and walked toward him.
"How long have you been here Maven?" I whispered, almost afraid of the answer.
"Around three years."
I paused. Three years. How long will I stay?
Maven grinned. "I better go, they'll be needing me and you should get ready."
He started to walk away before turning and rushing back, delicately placing his lips onto mine with care.
Too say the least I was stunned, and mortified. Holy shit! This will not end well!
Maven pulled away and walked out of the room.
I self-consciously touched my lips lightly, the smell of his lips still lingering near mine. I walked back to my bed and flopped down staring at the ceiling. My thoughts slowly being taken over by the upcoming event of my story telling.
I already told Jax some, how hard could telling the rest of them be? Jax. Just his name made my heart flutter. This succeeded only in making me even more confused by Maven's actions.
How the hell could two guys make a girl so miserable? I thought while rolling my eyes.
I rolled over and faced the wall. Maybe I could just stay like this forever and not have to say anything.
Marcy waltzed in. "It's time honey."
Guess not.
