A/N

Okay so just in case you were wondering, the songs that I put with each chapter are supposed to be listened to while you're reading or after you read the chapter. It's definitely okay if you don't listen to the song, but just in case anyone was confused about why I was adding songs in with the chapters, that's why. Also, each song is made to fit each chapter so the song will set the mood for the chapter. Anyway, enjoy!

Mike POV

"They should be here by now." I started to pace around the room as I thought about Y/n. I had tried to pull her aside after school today, but I couldn't find her. Eventually, I just went home. I had wanted to ask her about Dustin.

"Mike, it's okay. They will be here." El told me. She stood up from the couch and walked over to me. I felt her take my hand in hers, and she planted a soft kiss on my cheek. It was nice, but, for some reason, it wasn't the same as before.

"Seriously, Mike, you need to stop pacing." This came from Lucas. My pacing has always annoyed him, and he was always telling me to cut it out because it made him anxious.

"Okay, fine." I sat down on the floor and tried to get myself to stop thinking about Y/n and Dustin, when the doorbell rang. "Well, that has to be one of them." I said, jumping up and rushing up the stairs. I was hoping it was Y/n, so I could ask her what I wanted to earlier.

I ran through the kitchen and into the front hallway. As I yanked the door open, I could hear the other's footsteps on the basement steps.

When I opened the door, my jaw dropped. I just stood their, like a dumbass, staring and not saying anything. Dustin and Y/n were standing on the front porch... together. Y/n was giggling and Dustin was obviously blushing. Suddenly jealousy overtook me, and before I knew it, I was on the porch standing in between Y/n and Dustin like a wall.

"What the hell, man?" Dustin was trying to look around me at Y/n, and I kept getting in his way. Y/n just stood there, shocked.

"We need to talk, Dustin. Now." I pulled Dustin down the steps and onto the grass.

"What are you talking about, Mike?" Dustin looked honestly confused, and I waited until the rest of the party had taken Y/n inside before I started talking.

"Is there something going on with you and Y/n?" I cut right to the chase. I didn't want to spend too much time outside, causing the others to get worried.

"Well, I mean..." He didn't make eye contact with me. I ran my tongue along my teeth, trying to stop myself from raising my voice.

"Well, is there?" I was starting to become angry. How could he do this to me? He was one of my best friends. How could Y/n do this to me?

"Well, I like her. But, I don't know if she likes me. Don't tell anyone, okay? I don't want things to become weird. We're going to the arcade together." It was like a bolt of lightning had just struck me. I was standing completely still, and I slowly turned to look at Dustin.

"What?" I said through my gritted teeth.

"We're going to the arcade. Is something wrong, Mike?" Dustin ran his hand through his hair, and I quickly shook my head.

"No. No, why would you think that?" I looked down at my shoes. I had never realized how worn out they were.

"Well, you seem kind of angry. Almost like you're her boyfriend, or something." I rolled my eyes. Dustin was being ridiculous.

"What are you talking about, Dustin? Of course I don't like Y/n. I'm with El. We're happy together." I stared into Dustin's eyes, and it was almost as if he was trying to look through them. As if he was trying to see what I was really thinking. Did I like Y/n? No. Of course not.

"Okay... but if you don't want me to go out with her, I won't." Dustin gave me a knowing look, and it made me want to shrivel up into a ball. I knew that look.

"Do whatever you want, Dustin. Just don't break her heart, okay? I don't want this to make things awkward with the party." I sighed and nodded my head towards the door, motioning that I wanted to go back inside. Dustin nodded and we both walked up the steps and through the door.

Y/N POV

What just happened? I was so confused. Me and the rest of the party, except for Mike and Dustin who were outside talking, were sitting in the living room waiting for them to come back inside. Nobody said anything, but I could sense the tension in the room. I looked over at El. She looked like she had just been slapped in the face. In fact, they all looked like that.

Why had Mike gotten so angry so fast? Did he... like me? No. He couldn't. He wouldn't do that to El.

I ran my hands through  my hair and heard the boys come back inside. They were both quiet as they walked into the living room.

"Are you guys ready to hang out downstairs?" Mike asked us.

"Wait, hold on. What's going on? Are Dustin and Y/n, like, a thing now? Can someone please explain." Max said. I sighed and motioned for Dustin to come sit by me. I saw Mike clench his jaw when I did so.

We explained all that had happened, from the Snowball, to now. We left out the part about me kissing Dustin on the cheek though, because that seemed a little personal.

"Okay, great. I'm happy for you guys." El said. She smiled and gave my hand a squeeze. I smiled back at her.

"Me too." Will agreed. Lucas and Max both said that they were too, and we all then went downstairs.

Mike POV

Throughout the night, I couldn't stop glancing over at Y/n. She was practically glued to Dustin's side the entire night, and she wouldn't stop giggling.

I didn't think that I liked her, but do I? I mean, I got kind of angry when I saw them together. I'm happy for them, but maybe I've liked Y/n all along.

I shake my head to try and erase the thought. After all, Y/n did look happier with him.

Thank you for reading! I'm really happy with this fanfic, and I hope you are too! Please comment what you want to happen, because I'm not exactly sure how long I want to make Dustin and you a thing. I really want you and Mike together, but I want to make sure I give the story a good pace. See you next chapter!
