The sky bled as the sun touched the horizon. I picked my wrecked self from the ground as I aimlessly walked through the empty hillside, the chilling wind touching my bloody face making me tremble and I regretted for not carrying my coat along. I sat by the cliff my legs dangling dangerously at the steep edges as I stared at the sky bathing in red. I suddenly felt no grief or pain as I admired the beauty ahead.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Her thick southern accent brought me out of my trance.
In her black jeans n white shirt and neatly kept hair, she looked oddly out of place. The lady was in her late forties with a strange aura of authority around her as she sat beside me and now from a close distance she looked rather old.
"Rare too". I added after a while. "Well, suited strangers admiring sunset at Brooklyn. That's rare".
"You're smarter than I heard of". She chuckled.
"Geez. I didn't know I'm so popular".
"Join me and we can take care of that nasty wound". She motioned to a black Lamborghini parked around the corner with a charming smile that I hadn't noticed all this while.
"First of all I can take care of myself. Your concern is appreciated. Next since you pretend to know a lot about me you must certainly know that I don't talk to strangers especially someone with a luxurious luring Lamborghini".
A look of surprise passed through her features which she soon masked with a smile. She clearly didn't see that coming and I felt a surge of victory as I walked away from her.
"Do you know anything about the drug racket of Brooklyn?" I stopped dead in my tracks. Of course I know everything.
"You'll find it interesting I promise".
Something about her strange demeanor attracted me and I changed my mind. I guess it was my attract danger syndrome kicking in.***
Cables, laptops, files, modems, satellite phones, printer and all sorts of electronic devices scattered inside but it was warm and comfortable as we settled in and the car drove away smoothly.
"Where are we going?" I winced as she cleaned my wound and paid no heed to my growing curiosity.
Her fingers probed through my wound carefully, her eyes filled with concern and suddenly she reminded me so much of my mother. The door opened and Aiden poked in his pretty handsome face his lips curved into a smug as his eyes fell on me.
"Hello Ms. Swan. Hi Sky".
"Hello Agent Ryan. We had been waiting for you".
What the hell was going on? I stared blankly at their faces trying to catch up with the situation.
"Yeah follow me". He was swift as he threaded his way through the dark alleys like it was his home and I had to jog to keep up. This part of the town seemed quite deserted as he led us into a small yet well furnished house and I couldn't help but notice that the area was a long way from home.

"I'm Clarissa Swan from the CIA. Call me Clary. And this is Ryan Fray aka Aiden. I guess you know each other fairly well". Clary handed me a coffee cup before settling down on the couch next to me.
"We have been tracking a huge drug dealing affair operated from Brooklyn and rapidly spreading through the other states and so far we haven't gained much of an advantage". Aiden or rather Ryan added.
"Mmm..hmm. The genius is suddenly a spy. I'm kinda loving it".
"Skylar, we need your assistance to track down the whole gang. Someone very powerful is very elegantly handling the whole business without ever coming in spotlight".
"I seriously don't have any idea. I'm just a normal girl. I can't afford drugs". The lie came so easily.
"We know that. We want you to be our eyes in the school. You have an excellent record and popularity in school. Use it to crack open the devil's shell".
I couldn't think straight. Aiden had been bluffing around all these while and now he wants me to join his party. I've already attained the title of traitor in school and now I'm certainly gonna live up to it spying on the people I have spent half of my life with. What more worse can my school life become?
"Skylar. Sky. You there?".
Clary's voice brought me back from my thoughts and I quickly asked. "Why Wayland High? Why me?"
"Ryan and the team have enough evidence to link the trails directly to Wayland High. Moreover, none of us can deny the fact that some of the most important members are a part of the institution".
"I get it. But why me? I've no field training because I always sneak out of the gym classes and I literally have no idea about James Bond's tricks". I uttered sincerely. I was never a Mission Impossible or James Bond fan. I'd rather prefer Star Trek.
"That isn't a problem at all. Right?" Aiden assured and Clary nodded. These people seemed quite adamant to shake off.
"With a little luck I guess you both would take down the gang". Clary handed my an envelope with a stern glance. "I ain't fond of failures Skylar".
The contract was thrilling and my heart pounded in my ears as I signed it. Fair enough! I had nothing to loose but to drown into my thirst for some reckless action.
