Sam's P.O.V.

"Before you start ripping into me about this let me just say-"

"Sam, stop."

Here we go. I took a deep breath and began to prepare myself for this argument.

"Listen...I'm so proud of you for telling me this-" What?

"It lets me know that I raised you right." What is happening?

"I see how much he makes you happy and how much he cares about you but-" I know there was a 'but' coming.

"I don't think he's right for you. He's older and you rarely hear from him when he's not here visiting. I know how much he means to you, Sam but I really think he'll hurt you."

"He's not going to hurt me, Dad."

"Who's not going to hurt you?" Mom asked as she came into the kitchen.

"Harry" I replied.

"Oh." She replied.

"What's wrong with them dating?" Mom asked. My Dad went over all the reasons why I shouldn't date Harry. I honestly didn't catch them all because I was starting to get sleepy and I was getting tired of him criticizing Harry.

"Hun, that's enough. We'll finish this tomorrow." Mom said.

"It already is tomorrow. You mean later." John said from the living room.

"Whatever time it is. Everyone go to bed." Mom said. She didn't have to tell me twice.

Later that morning...

I turned over so I was on my back. I let out a yawn as I stretched then I turned on my side to pick up my phone. I pressed the home button. Oh my gosh, it's 11:30 a.m. I have a couple missed texts. I blinked a few times trying to get use to the light from my phone. I couldn't tell who the texts were from so I opened my phone with my fingerprint then clicked on the message app. My eyes finally adjusted to the light so I could see who the texts were from.

Harry

Raven

I first tapped on Harry.

        Harry: Morning x

Harry: Are you awake? I want to see you.

I smiled. Then last night came back to me and my smile faded away. I can't right now. I tapped the arrow to go back to my other texts. I tapped on Raven.

Raven: Hey how did it go with your dad?

I set my phone down next to me. As much as I just want to stay here and not deal with the mess I'm in right now I should get up. I got up going over to my door. I opened it and saw the light on in the kitchen so I headed there first. On the way I peaked in the living room and saw my brother was still sleeping. Mom was at the island mixing what looked to be her famous brownies.

"Morning, Mom." I said.

"Morning." She replied. I stood at the island across from her.

"Why are you making brownies?"

"Your brother wanted me to make him some." She said. I was about to dip my finger in the batter but she slapped my hand.

"Ouch." I said pulling my arm back.

"We have a lot of things to do today. We have some baking to do some shopping to do."

"Why?"

"You're not the only person with a birthday this month, Sam."
