Harry's P.O.V.
After Sam left to go meet her friend for lunch. I went over to Sam's house to help her mom with Sam's surprise birthday party.
"Thanks for coming, Harry. I greatly appreciate it." Mrs. Springs said. She was sat at the table with Sam's cousin, Landon. I met him at the Springs' family gathering when her uncle came home to visit a while back. Sam and him are really close.
"It's no problem." I replied.
"We just have a few more things to pick up. I already got most of the stuff, it's down at the store (the Springs family business). Harry and I will head down there to pick everything up. Landon, if you don't mind picking up the last few things we talked about we should be set."
"Sounds good." He replied.
"Alright. Great." She replied.
"We have to get as much done as we can today. Sam will text me when she is on her way home so let's go." Mrs. Springs said getting up heading to the door. I drove Mrs. Springs down to the little town Sam grew up in and went to the Springs' family business to pick up the things Mrs. Springs left there to hide from Sam. She must have bought the whole store by the number of bags we carried to the car. Afterwards, we went to Mrs. Springs' brother's hall where they're having the party for Sam.
"Harry, I want you to meet my brother, Todd." She said introducing me.
"This is Sam's friend, Harry."
"Nice to meet you." Todd said putting his hand out. I shook it.
"You too."
"This is my wife, Rena." He said as a woman approached us.
"Nice to meet you."
"You too, Harry." She replied with a smile. Shortly after, Sam's cousin, Devin came to help along with Mrs. Springs' sister. An hour and a half later, Landon came in with the last of the stuff.
Few hours later...
It was almost six o'clock when Sam texted her mom telling her she was on her way home from hanging out with Bryan. She sure spent enough time with him. I'm not jealous. I just don't know why Sam never mentioned him to me. Was it because she had a crush on him? Sam use to talk about her old team all the time when we talked on the phone. She would tell me about her teammates, games, plays, and funny things that happened but she never mentioned Bryan. I'm sure of it. I trust Sam. I just don't know about this Bryan.
"Are you alright?" Mrs. Springs asked.
"I'm fine. I just got caught up in my thoughts." I replied.
"I don't think you have anything to worry about, Harry." She said.
"Sorry?"
"With Bryan."
"Do you think Sam still likes him?" I asked.
"Just as a friend. Like I said I don't believe you have anything to worry about, Harry. Sam is different with you. You make her happy. She trusts you and that is a pretty big thing with her because so many people have taken advantage of her because she has such a big heart. I honestly believe she loves you." She replied a moment later. Should I tell her?
"We were going to wait until after her birthday to tell you-"
"I know my daughter, Harry. I knew you two would end up together that first time you texted me about coming to Pittsburgh to see her. It was only time." She replied pulling into the driveway. We got out of the car going inside the warm house. It gets really cold here. Mrs. Springs had to finish up a few things for work so I hanged out in Sam's room. Sam's Dad was working over so he wouldn't be home until later. I wonder how he'll take the news of me dating his daughter. I definitely know it won't be as well as her mother that was certain. I sat at Sam's desk looking at the collage of pictures on the wall in front of her desk. I noticed a few team pictures. I wonder which one is Bryan. I looked on her desk to see a hockey puck. I picked it up. She must have got it last night. Two arms wrapped around my neck.
"Hey. You should have told me you were here." Sam said kissing my cheek. She removed her arms from my neck.
"Nice hockey puck." I said setting it down.
"Thanks. Bryan got it for me." She replied. I turned the chair around so I was facing her. She was putting her jacket away.
"How was lunch?" I asked.
"Good." She replied.
"How was Bryan?" I asked.
"He was good. It was fun playing laser tag. I never played laser tag until today it's surprisingly fun it's like paintball but less painful." She replied making me chuckle in response.
"How long have you been waiting?" She asked.
"Not long."
"You okay?" She asked.
"What is this an interview?" I asked.
"Funny, Harold." She said as she sat down on her bed.
"Last question: Did you have dinner?" She asked.
"Yeah, I got something at the hotel." I lied. Her uncle ordered pizza for us around five.
"Did you eat?" I asked.
"Yeah, Bryan and I grabbed a pizza." She replied.
"So what do you want to do?" She asked. I shrugged.
"Are you mad?" She asked.
"No." I got up to sit next to her on her bed.
"I've never been in a relationship so if I'm crossing some sort of line just tell me."
"You're allowed to have dinner with your friends. I'm sorry if I came across as mad." I replied kissing her. She pulled back.
"Are you sure?" She asked. Instead of replying I just kissed her lips again. She pulled back once again.
"You pulling away is making me mad." I said.
"Oh." She replied with a smirk.
"You're kinda hot when you're mad." She said. Her lips were just centimeters away. This girl is killing me.
"You haven't seen me mad." I replied playing along. I kissed her gently pushing her back on her bed.
THEY ARE JUST KISSING. THAT'S ALL THAT IS HAPPENING HERE.
