Next Day...

Harry's P.O.V.

I decided last night that I was going to talk to Mr. Springs on my own without Sam. I should have gone to him before I even asked Sam to be my girlfriend. The other day Mrs. Springs pointed out this little diner to me on our way to go decorate the Hall for Sam's party. She told me Mr. Springs goes there every morning before work to get breakfast. I got out of my car heading to the diner. I past Mr. Springs truck on the way to the door. I opened the door stepping inside. I looked around until I saw Mr. Springs sitting at the counter. I went over to him.

"Good Morning, Mr. Springs." I said getting his attention. He turned his head.

"Morning, Harry." He replied with a sigh. He wasn't happy to see me.

"Can we talk privately?" I asked. He hesitantly nodded then got up going over to the nearest booth. He sat down and I sat down across from him.

"How did you know where to find me?" He asked.

"Your wife told me you come here every morning before work." We sat in an awkward silence for a moment until he started to speak.

"Listen, Harry. I told Sam-"

"Mr. Springs" I said cutting him off.

"I should have came to you before I even thought about asking Sam out. It was wrong of me and I apologize. I really care about your daughter, Mr. Springs. I never met anyone quite like her. She's not only beautiful on the outside she's beautiful on the inside too. I really enjoy spending time with her, Mr. Springs. All I want to do is make her happy and do right by her."

"You're a good guy, Harry. You make her happy there's no doubt about that. I just don't think your lifestyle is good for her. You two rarely see each other and the age difference. I know it's only five years but still."

"My lifestyle won't affect her, Mr. Springs. I will make sure of that. I know I can't visit often but we  always talk and message when we can." I replied.

"When I met her I had no idea she was younger than me. She's so mature. I still sometimes forget. I know I'm older than her but age is only number and just because she turned 18 doesn't change anything either." I said.

"You love her don't you?" He asked.

"I do. Very much." I answered. He sighed looking away.

"Sam says you want my permission." He said looking back at me.

"Yes." I replied.

"You can have my permission but only on one condition."

Sam's P.O.V.

I got to sleep in for a little bit today. Thanks to it being Presidents Day we got the day off from school. I got up around ten o'clock so I could spend some time with my brother. He's leaving in three days. Harry will be leaving in four. I don't know who I'm going to miss more...definitely Harry. John and I basically just hung out and watched TV until I had to help my mom finish up a couple things for Grandma's party tonight.

"Do you know what you're going to wear?" She asked.

"I was thinking about wearing that gray sweater cardigan you got me for Christmas, a pair of jeans, and a nice shirt." I replied as I stirred the pot on the stove.

"That'll look nice." She replied.

"What time do we have to leave?" I asked setting down the wooden spoon.

"Around five." She replied. I looked at the clock on the microwave. It's 11:35 a.m. I'm surprised I didn't get a 'Good Morning' text from Harry.

"I think that's all for now, baby. Thank you." She said giving me a hug.

"No problem, Mom."

"Did you get all your homework done?"

"Yeah. I think I'm just going to go over my notes again for History. Mrs. Peters want us to send them in at the beginning of class tomorrow." I replied.

"Alright." I went to my room to look over my History notes in Google Docs. After I got my notes up, I grabbed my history book turning to the World War II chapter. I actually really like History, especially WWII and that time period. It has always fascinated me. I was just halfway through my notes when John hollered.

"Sam! Lover boy is here!"

"I wish you would stop calling him that!" I hollered back. I closed my laptop then closed my book setting it on my desk. I got up going to the door. I opened the door once he was there.

"Hey." I said letting him inside. I closed the door.

"Hey. Don't you have class?" He asked.

"No, it's Presidents Day. We have the day off." I replied.

"Can we talk?" He asked. This can't be good.

"Yeah. Come on." He took his shoes off then put his coat on one of the dining table chairs. I led the way to my room. I closed the door so Mom and John wouldn't hear us talking.

"What's going on? Is everything okay?" I asked folding my arms.

"I talked to your Dad."

"What? When?" I asked.

"Early this morning. I went to that diner he goes to before work." I sat down on the edge of my bed.

"How did it go?" I asked.

"It actually went pretty well." He replied. I guess it was a good idea that they talked in a public place. There would be too many witnesses.

"Are you sure it was my Dad you were talking to?"

"He said we could date."

"But?" I asked beating him to it. I know it was coming.

"We have to wait until after you graduate."

"That's about four months away, Harry."

"It will go fast." He said sitting down next to me.

"I know. I just don't want to wait."

"I know but it's all your Dad is asking for." He replied. I sighed.

"I can't believe he's going to let us date." Harry must have gave some heck of speech to make my Dad change his mind.

"So, what do we do now? Do we breakup?" I asked.

"We're just put on hold." He replied. I nodded.

"When you get that diploma in your hand in June your mine. After your celebration, we're going to London and I'm going to take you on a proper first date." He said making me smile. I looked over at that big bear Harry won for me on the Santa Monica Pier and it reminded me of that night he made that promise to me about that not being the last time we see each other. I looked back at Harry.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise." He replied. I have no doubt that he'll keep his promise.
