Douaa's P.O.V.
- "Jace?", I asked; astonished by his presence.
- "Is it okay if I stayed for a few hours?", he asked back; looking so pale and out of breaths.
- "Yeah, sure. Come on in". I handed him a cup of water as he laid himself on the sofa, above the pillows I got him from my room. Seeing him in this state is shocking, to say the least.
- "I'm sorry to surprise you like this. I usually go to Alex's place, but he's in London, and won't be back for a few weeks. The other option is Chris, but he's busy, so I just headed to the first place that came to my mind, which is here, and I know it's a bit", but he didn't get to finish as I cut him off,
- "Hey! Chill. It's okay. What happened?"
- "It's complicated, and honestly, I don't feel like talking about it now"
- "Fine then. Do you want something to eat?"
- "Yeah. I'm starving". I handed him what's left of the chicken pieces I ordered, before resuming the movie, Trolls, which he mocked me for watching, as he finished eating.
- "What do you mean it's the only way to fill your weekend? Did you forget the tonnes of homework we have to submit by the beginning of the week?"
Wait, doesn't he know about the suspension?- "I don't have to do that. Actually, Leena and I are suspended for a week"
- "Are you serious?", I nodded in response, "Is it Mrs. Linean?"
- "Is it that obvious?", I chuckled.
- "Well, she really does hate you guys", and as soon as he finished his sentence, my phone rang, and I wasted no time answering it, once I saw the caller was mom.
- "Douaa!! I can't believe you got a suspension! This is unacceptable!!"
- "Yeah, I can hear you perfectly mom"
- "Why can't you act like a normal child, and go through the school day without irritating any teacher?!"
- "First of all, mom, you didn't even ask me if I had anything to say in defense, and secondly, why can't you act like a normal mother, and ask about your daughter once in a while?!"
- "Don't you dare talk to me like that! We'll be coming as soon as we can to solve this mess. You better behave", and with that she hung up, and I threw my phone beside me with a huff.
- "Seems like I'm not the only one with 'mom' problems", Jace chuckled.
- "You have no idea"
- "Although you don't know my mom, I think yours is way better"
- "You don't know my mom either, and by the way, I met your mother"
- "What? When?"
- "When you bailed on me at your house"
- "Sorry about that. But what did she say to you?", someone couldn't hide his curiosity.
- "Nothing much. I don't think she likes me"- "She doesn't like anyone, so don't take it personal"
