Douaa's P.O.V
- "I guess we'll have to find our guardians then", I broke the silence, that arose once Leena and Mark left.
- "That wouldn't be a problem if we knew how", Jace replied ever so cockily, "But the most important thing, we have stuff on common", he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
- "Yeah. That part was definitely a mistake", I replied disgustedly, and with that, silence fell upon us again.
- "Why us?", Mason suddenly asked, worry clear in his voice, "Maybe they need something from us"
- "Maybe it's because we needed them", Max suggested.
- "Yeah, but why these powers specifically?", Jace pointed out, "And who are those people, and how to find them?
-" The ghost like people", Chris murmured, reminding us of his forgotten presence, "Maybe Leena and I can ask the ghost like people when we meet them the next time. They probably know a lot", that was the only thing I heard, before he started murmuring to himself. He's right. Those ghosts may not be related to us, since we can't see them, but we are all related. That's for sure.
Leena and Mark soon joined us, bringing food along with our drinks. Forgetting everyone around me, I attacked the burger that Leena handed me, it being as tasty as ever. I was so hungry, since I didn't have anything to eat after lunch, and it's been almost two hours! Yes, I know there's not supposed to be meal right after lunch, but the point is, I'm hungry.
I grabbed my pack of French fries from the middle of the table, and sat down, munching them down as well.
- "Oh my God, you're such a pig!", Jace openly expressed his opinion, and that was when I noticed everyone, except Leena who was quietly eating, staring at me.
- "Well Jace, you used that one before, so I suggest you widen your horizon or better yet, get used to it, and what's up with you all?", I replied, taking a bite of my burger.
- "I honestly thought you were the 'I'm on a diet' or 'I only eat salad' type of girl", Mason replied, still staring at me wide eyed.
- "Hell no I ain't!"
We didn't even get to finish our drinks, before Leena, Chris, and Max left to finish their work. Mark then left, saying he had things to study, and it wasn't long enough before Mason left as well.
- "So...", Jace said once we were alone, but I tried hard to stop him from completing by glaring with all my might at him, "What's with that look? I was just wondering if you want an oreo ice-cream, since I'm getting one", he completed with a smirk.
- "You don't ask a question like that", my excitement was clear in my voice.
- "Oh Gosh", I moaned, as Jace laughed at me.
- "You remind me of my little sister", he managed to say in between laughs.
- "You have a sister?", I stopped digging on my ice-cream.
- "Well yeah", he replied, rubbing the back of his next, "She's only four, and she loves ice cream like hell!". I laughed at his expression.
- "I'm looking forward to meeting her already"
- "Maybe", he answered, getting a bit stiff. I unlocked my phone to look at the clock, and couldn't help to frown when I saw that it was 8.34.
- "I could give you a ride, if you want", Jace offered, and I accepted, actually thankful.
