Chapter 23

"What do you mean their missing?" Jacob asked

"After Henry and Rebecca arrived, Jason went out on a walk and didn't come back. Molly said that he was just doing some business in the cottage but after a while, she got worried as well and went to go find him but hasn't come back" Kaleb explained. I looked back at to the other still having fun in the lake, I watched as Henry and Rebecca dived and didn't come up for a bit before jumping up behind grace and scaring her.

They played as if we didn't just break life-changing news to them or them to us, they played without a care in the world.

"Alright, let's go back to the packed house and we can discuss things there," I said then call out to the others in the lake "Hey guys!! We have to go and do pack stuff!! Stay safe, okay?"

"We will!" Rebecca shouted back as Aiden splashed her from behind "come here you!" And she chased him.

We got back the pack house and Kaleb led us to Jason's office.

"Do your own where he might have gone?" Jacob asked as I looked at the map laid out on Jason's desk,

"Well, I believe he has a 'getaway' cottage either on the East or South border but I am unsure of the exact location..."

"Have you look at the map?" I asked and they all gathered around me "This blue dotted line" I explained " is the pack territory, the orange dotted lines are the surrounding packs, the red lines are patrolling roots"

"When did you learn to read maps?" Zack asked

"It's written on the sticky note," I said " and it's pretty obvious, but anyway, these gray lines mark all the buildings. This one is the packed house, and if you look east right on the border you'll see a small gray outline. That is either a bunker for when attacked to pack members that can't fight will hide or its some kind of small house"

"Well it's definitely not the bunker," Kaleb said, "that's more North on the Moonaiden Pack boarder since we have an alliance with them and it wouldn't be marked on the map"

"So that means  it must be a small house of some kind," Zack said

"Exactly,"  I said "This must be his cottage, if he's there then Molly must be there too"

"I can call some soldiers to go with you" Kaleb offered

"No it's fine, we can go on our own. We should tell Grace where we're going so that if something happens we can call at least one person" Jacob suggest

"Good idea," I said and looked at the clock on the wall, "it's getting kind of late, we should probably try an get them before dark."

"Let's go now then," Zack said "we will bring back your Luna and Alpha"

"Thank you," Kaleb said as we left the office.

We shifted as we entered the forest on the east, carrying our clothes in our mouths, and ran. As we got closer to the east border I picked up Jason and Molly's sent and we then knew we were definitely going the right way, then I picked up another smell but it was only for a split second then it was covered by Jason's sent. I thought nothing of it and we carried on.

Soon we found it, the little cottage only feet away from the eastern border. It looked quite old, with cracked white walls as some vines here and there, the door and window frames were made of wood and looked to be rotting. We shifted back and put our clothes on, I then cautiously knocked on the door but no one answered. I knocked again and heard something but still, no one answered. I looked back at Jacob and Zack who started to look a bit worried, I slowly turned the old doorknob and when I opened the door we were hit with the strong smell of blood.

"Alpha Jason?" I called "Luna Molly? Anyone home?" 

There was shuffling in the kitchen, we all cautiously went round to the kitchen and found Molly with a huge wound in her leg and various other wounds all over her, she was covered in blood and dirt and looked very tired.

"Oh my god, Lizza please you have to save him! They took us by surprise! I got thrown into a tree and when- when I woke up... please you've got to save him!" She ranted on as I bent down to her.

"Molly, slow down," I said to her "Take a deep breath and tell me exactly what happened" she nodded and took several breaths

"Jason said he was just coming to check on this house but he didn't come back for a week, I-I started to get worried and I came out here to find him. When I found him though he was hurt and said that he was attacked but rouges AND vampires. on the way back to the pack house we were ambushed by rouges and vampires and I got this and was thrown into a tree. When-when I woke up they were all gone... " She looked up and me and I could see the sadness in her eyes, and how she really did care for Jason.

"Do you know where Jason is now?" Zack asked

"N-no, no" She replied "I couldn't pick up his sent with all the blood and-and" she started to tear up, I pulled her into a hug and calmed her down

"How long ago did this happen?" I asked

"I'm not exactly sure," she said, "I-I think it was several hours ago? I-I don't know, I'm sorry"

"Sorry for what?" I asked, she pulled back and looked and me, tears at the corners of her eyes

"For everything," She said and looked down at the floor

"Let's get you back home," I said and helped her up, she had to walk with a limp. I didn't want to teleport with her because I'm unsure of how it will affect her in this state. It took us I don't know how long to get back, but when we did we went straight to the pack hospital. Kaleb was there and Molly was unconscious. 

"What happened? Where's Jason?" He asked and kind of looked behind us as if expecting him to walk down the hallway.

"Kaleb..." Jacob started off "I don't know how to tell you this but... Jason has been captured by rouges and vampires."

Kaleb stood in shock. Then sat on the bench behind him, I couldn't tell if he was still in shock or if he was thinking now.

"What are we going to do?" He asked 

"We find him," I said
