I hold my breath, waiting for her answer. "Yes, Keefe. I forgave you the second everything went wrong. But you just ignored me for a month, you know that, right? I need proof that you won't do that to me again." I listen to her angry voice and force myself to listen. "Sorry Sophie," I say sheepishly.
"Okay, then. We're friends, Keefe. Just friends, until I can trust you." "Okay, Foster," I tell her. She gives me a small smile and leaves. I sigh. Will I ever regain her trust?
I leave in my car and drive to the motel where I've been staying since my dad kicked me out. The next day at school Biana finally lets out a smile in my direction. "Good job, Keefe. Now you'll just have to figure out how to make her date you again." "Don't worry. I have some plans," I say and walk away smirking.
